“Decent food and very friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2014

We really didn't want to eat fast food which seemed to be the only options on the east side of Interstate 5. When we were headed back to 5 to try a different exit we noticed this "cafe" sign a ways down the road on the west side of the highway across from a Walmart. It looked pretty old and we weren't sure we would even stop but, after seeing three trucks parked in the lot and about 6 other cars, we decided to at least look at the menu. The server gave us a menu immediately.

We noticed that about 1/4 of the menu was comprised of beef dishes (burgers, steaks, etc.) and we don't eat red meat. However, there were a number of other options for us so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the gluten free Bombay chicken lettuce wrap and my husband ordered the Broasted Chicken dinner. The server informed us it would take 20 minutes for the chicken because they cook everything fresh. We weren't in a hurry so were able to wait. My Bombay chicken lettuce wrap was ordered with the sauce on the side since I wasn't sure I would like it. It was a mild flavored chunky tomato style sauce. The chicken was grilled to a light golden brown on the outside but still moist on the inside. The onions and bell peppers were a little oily for me. It also had white rice inside. It was tasty. The broasted chicken was very hot when it was served. Since my husband doesn't eat the skin, there was only a small amount of chicken remaining after he picked off the skin. We both received cole slaw as a side and he also had corn bread, french fries, and a salad as part of his dinner. The food was good and definitely better than fast food. They don't appear to salt anything when they cook it so nothing is too salty. You can add however much you like.

If we were in this area again, we would choose this restaurant over the fast food joints. However, it's not a restaurant that we would make a special trip to visit. The servers were all very friendly and it seemed clean. It is an older building so you feel like you have gone back in time.

“Open 24/7 with a Smile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014 via mobile

What a great place to meet family and friends! This is the ONLY place in town that Never closes. The food was home cooked and the staff is "home grown". The portions are big enough for 2 and 1/2 people. We weren't rushed (we stayed over 2 hours with our party of 6). Thanks for a great experience!!!

Service good, restaurant is clean, food is average but quite edible. The pricing is reasonable. The seating crowded but even so you can enjoy your meal.

“A very friendly place with very tasty food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014

Nancy's has several wonderful confort foods like smoked tri-tip and Broaster Chicken. Two of my favorites. Nancy's is always crowded at lunchtime and there is a good reason for that. great service and great comfort food. $4 cheeseburger lunch special is very good and not small. add a slice of pie for $2!

“disappointing...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

After the great reviews I suppose our hopes were too high for Nancy's. We visited on a Friday night for dinner. The waitress was uninterested in her job, and the food wasn't anything to write home about. (My burger was OK but the fries were cool, and my husband's pancakes were scorched.) The old photos are interesting though...
