We filled a boat with seven family members, plus our wonderful river guide, Marie, and rafted down the gorgeous Trinity River on the Pigeon Run. It was a blast! Our seven-year-old granddaughter loved it and we felt safe with her in the boat. She was nervous a few times, but by the end of the trip she was feeling empowered. What no one at Bigfoot knew was that our family is dealing with my husband's terminal illness and we really needed a family outing that would be distracting and fun... and make some really good memories. He was fine on the trip and was even able to overcome a long time fear of heights when he jumped off a 15 foot rock into a swimming hole in the river. He said, "What the HELL... what do I have to lose!" and he jumped... 3 times. The whole day was amazing. The turkey sandwiches at lunch, that we assembled as we liked them, were fresh and tasty. The pictures we purchased at the end of the trip are more priceless than anyone will ever know!!!! Thank you BIGOOT.... thank you MARIE... thank you SERENDIPITY SNAPSHOTS... you have provided something amazing for our family!!!
