Needing lodging for one night on our way home from Lassen, I methodically searched the I-5 corridor from Willows to Williams and the only place of lodging I could find that seemed both attractive and practical was Granzella’s Inn in Williams. We weren’t disappointed during our stay there. Located a couple of blocks removed from I-5, freeway noise wasn’t apparent in our room (#207). There WAS noticeable noise from the interior corridor with voices and slamming doors the biggest issue. However, at night things quieted down and I had no problems falling asleep.

Our decent-sized room had a comfortable King bed, arm chair with ottoman, desk with large office chair, adequate lamps, phone, microwave, refrigerator, and flat screen TV. The contemporary furnishings and decor were somewhat nicer than what one expects to find in a newer, moderately priced motel/hotel. Our room’s window faced directly out to the side/roof of a corrugated building with a little glimpse of the hills above the rooftop. The ceiling fan kept the room comfortable and we left it on thru the night.

The bath area was very clean. The low-flow showerhead required a lot of “rinsing time”. There was adequate closet space and a blowdryer and an iron/ironing board were provided. The counterspace around the sink was limited and had to be shared with the hand towels (no towel racks), and the coffee maker. I did wish that the coffee packets held something other than insipid Maxwell House. We didn’t avail ourselves of the guest laundry, pool/spa or Continental breakfast.

The biggest drawback was the room’s floorplan which made it impossible for an early riser to make coffee or use the sink area without having the lights and noise disturb the person still trying to sleep.

Granzella’s own restaurant, lounge and deli are located right across the parking lot from the motel building. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and inn guests receive a discount coupon that can be used in either the restaurant or the deli. The ample portions of “comfort food” make the place a popular spot. The deli had an impressive array of products inc. many of Granzella’s own brand. I loved the olive tasting bar! We came away with 3 jars of specialty olives, foccacia and a complimentary loaf of sourdough bread.

All the staff were friendly and attentive. Experiencing the small town hospitality is an integral part of staying at Granzella’s Inn in Williams!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor and at the end of the hall will be quieter.

We were travelling from Washington to Los Angeles to visit family and rather than take a commando approach and drive for 18 hours straight we break it up into two days. Around 5 pm on the first day we started looking at the AAA guidebook to find a place to spend the night. My wife thought the name was unique enough for consideration. We called several places to check availability and price and decided to stop at Williams instead of forging on toward Sacramento. We are glad we did. The motel has been recently rennovated and is clean and well decorated. The price was a great value. To top it off the same proprieters have a restaraunt/lounge/sports bar/deli right next door.

My husband and I had driven from San Marcos CA, and were shooting for Redding, but decided to see what lodging was in Williams. We first went by Ramada, but decided to go over the freeway...so glad!! We found a wonderful gem of a hotel, very spacious room, modern furnishings, and exceptionally clean. Great sports bar, pizza, salad!! We loved the deli, and finished it off with breakfast in the morning! Great value, discounts for seniors, etc! Very friendly staff, in hotel, as well as the restaurant. this will be our stop from now on!

The new remodeled rooms are very clean & delightful. The free breakfast is heavy on sugar, but the restaurant has great service and food.

We needed to stay in Williams overnight for an event in town, so we chose Granzellas. We've been to the restaurant and the deli many times and always been pleased with the service, so we decided to try the hotel. What a find! It was great. I never expected to find such nice accomodations in that area. The hotel is clean and comfortable, very quiet. I definitely recommend it.

We were tentative about staying in a relatively unkown hotel, but we were very glad we stayed at Granzella's Inn. The room was top notch, beautiful bedding, nice large flatscreen. Hotel was quiet and spotless, front desk very friendly. Breakfast offered us yogurt, cereals, bagels, juice, coffee, waffles....the usual complimentary fare. The worker actually used gloves and tongs to move the baked goods around, we were impressed! The only downfall of the place is the pool, so if you expect to sit by a gorgeous pool you will be unhappy. We would definitely stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: We overlooked the parking lot and had no noise issues at all.
