“Excellent value for the price”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

My wife and adult children had stayed here previously on a trip to southern California for a relative's funeral and had raved about the comfort and cleanliness -- dubbing it a great value. They were right on the money. We had chosen Williams as a stopping point for an anniversary trip to the Santa Barbara area and the Traveler's Inn was a perfect choice.
The desk clerk took us to our room, made sure we were satisfied with the accommodations and got the air conditioning going for us (outdoor temps were in the high 90's). The room was more than spacious, with a queen bed, desk, armoire with TV and a small bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a good night's sleep before hitting the road the next morning. Breakfast was a limited continental offering -- we took only a little fruit and a couple small pastries since we had other snacks with us and we were planning a lunch stop around 11.
Altogether, a great value for the price ($55 including tax). The only quibble -- the TV remote was a bit flaky. Probably the battery was running low.

We stayed here as an overnight en route between Yosemite and Lassen, purely as a convenience stop. The two bedded room was very cosy (no cat-swinging here), but had everything it needed, including TV, fridge, ice bucket, etc. It was clean and recently renovated. The only downside was the pillows - not very comfy and some like rock, so it wasn't the best night's sleep. But on the plus side, the guest laundry was very handy, and the pool clean and warm and a good place to while away the laundry time. The owners were friendly and attentive, providing detergent, change, and any help required. We skipped breakfast (standard motel pastries etc) and went to nearby deli Granzella's for a full breakfast.

What a pleasant surprise this little gem was! The room wasn't just clean, it was spotless! The staff (owners) were nice and super attentive. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. Although it wasn't a problem for my party, the room was a little small and there was only a shower instead of a tub/shower combo. We got the room with the queen and double bed and there was adequate space for 2 adults and a child. The room was equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. There is a small but clean pool, a really nice fitness room and a koi pond with huge koi cruising around. There is a light complimentary breakfast offered. If you are looking for a true bargain, this place is it with rates between $45-$60/per night. It's been a long time since I've left a hotel or motel feeling like I really, REALLY got my money's worth. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Had a traffic court date in Calusa, Ca and wanted to make a bad situation better! So we decided to make an overnight experience....I read the reviews on line and decided to stay here...not knowing what to expect and at an exceptional price we ventured out.

Upon our arrival we were escorted to our room which was waiting for us, air-conditioned and was amazed at the luxury the room displayed. I felt like a "Queen" for the night....the room was beautifully decorated with special touches that did not go unnoticed. Someone took the time to fold a ten fold fan out of a tissue atop of it's box. Of course the toilet tissue was also folded in a very unique display which I never had seen before! The bathroom was all marbled and contained thick absorbing towels and smelled beautifully. There was refrig and microwave as well as a coffee maker. The property was beautifully manicured with landscaping. The pool was small but adequate. There was also a workout room and the owners were in the process of completing a Koi Pond!

The location had easy access to the highways 20 and route 5. The town, although very quite was quaint and one could see the remnants of better days. There were several fine restaurants within walking distance. There were several other motels on the same street which did not compare to the Travelers Inn. I plan go head back to for a weekend getaway where there is Peace and Serenidty! The owners were exceptional and eager to assist with all questions and suggestions!

I did not rate this with five stars only because the Koi Pond was a work in progress but one can see that it will be beautiful! The large boulders, slate and rocks were waiting to be placed....I enjoyed watching the men work on its creation!

Ps I won my case! ........Please note....if traveling on Route 20 you will be tempted to drive above the 55 MPH ......DON'T it is speed trap! The 55 MPG signs are few and at least 6 miles apart!

Room Tip: Room 18 is where we stayed in a non smoking room!

We were traveling and could not find a hotel room then I found a small "Mom & Pop" motel in Williams California with good TripAdvisor reviews. The rate was only $55 and I was a bit leery about what the place would be like, but we needed a room. Boy were we surprised. This is an older motel but it has been well maintained and it is very clean and the rooms although not large, are well appointed. Believe it or not they even throw in a free breakfast for $55. The lady at the desk took us to our room to make sure we were happy with the place. When was the last time anyone showed you to a motel room? I have not paid this price for such a nice motel in decades. There is also a good Chinese restaurant in Williams which also gets excellent reviews. This place is a steal for the money. The place is an easy exit off the I-5 and it is very quiet at night.

My husband was unsure when we drove up but once we were there we were pleasantly surprised that this little motel had a pool, laundry facility as well as a workout room. The room was impeccably clean. Our room was facing the street and my husband thought we would hear the traffic all night. Never heard a car drive by. Our room had a microwave as well as a mini frig. The gentleman that helped us was extremely nice. Even took us to our room and showed us around. We were very pleased. We can not express how pleased we were that the room was immaculate and the rates were great!! Next time we take another trip up North we plan on staying there again.
