Ciao Italia Panini Grill has moved & they changed their name to Ciao Italia Ristorante, 13112 Philadelphia St, Whittier CA 90601. The owners (from Calabria, Italia) are Maurizio & Rosanna are the most gracious hosts, they make you feel like family (true Italian hospitality). My wife & I use to go to restaurant on Painter & the panini were out of this world. We lived in the next town & it took 30 mins to get there; well worth it. Now, they just opened their new restaurant & I held my 60th birthday party there (about 20 guests). Everyone raved about the food & said they would return. Service is phenomenal & the whole family helps out. I recommend that you try Ciao Italia Restaurante soon before the word gets out.

Found this place on yelp. Surprisingly, sandwich was so good. Ordered panini on the lunch manual ( ordered sausage and pepper Panini). Services was good. Casual place. Good for hand out, or watch game on TV. Will go back again for Panini for sure.

The atmoshere, the map on the wall and the ever present soccer games on the tv feels like you've wandered into a foreign place without leaving the streets of Whittier. The owners do a nice job of making you feel at home. It's not fast food, but food prepared with thought and care. The vegies are crisp, mozzarella fresh and moist, and meats chosen with care. When I have time on a Saturday I walk down the 1/2 mile grab a sandwich and take my time walking back through the college and the shady streets of Whittier. I'm sure it's a great place for weekday lunches too, but allow a bit of time.
