It's crowded....crazy busy...but never seem to wait long. Good diner food, affordable prices.

We had a fun time in Whittier at Norms. This is part of a chain that started in Hollywood in 1949. I am not sure when they got to Whittier, but it seems like everyone from miles around knew about the large portions and good value. You will find parking around the back but may need to wait for a car to leave before you can snag a spot. Ditto for a table, the wait list is long but they seem to move through the throngs fairly quickly. The big draw here is the amount of food. Portions are large, but they have many specials so you won’t pay very much. It is extremely popular for that reason. The food was good, everyone enjoyed what they ordered. This is a classic coffee shop experience, and well worth negotiating the crowds. Service is efficient, although we had a dry spell during the middle of our meal when we couldn't get anyone to refill our water glasses.

Really enjoy this place for breakfast - the prices are really great, which probably explains why the locals love this restaurant. There's always a line during the most popular mealtimes, and it seems like they have some kind of a special running all the time. It's just good comfort food - nothing extraordinary, but worthwhile if you're just hungry. Lunch and dinner are as much a deal as breakfast. The parking lot is packed on Sunday mornings, so I'd recommend any other time. Open 24 hours and they have free Wi-Fi!

I think I practically live at Norms! It is the favorite coffee shop for us to hang out after church or other events. Very good food, all made on site, by the way, and the specials are so reasonably priced! My favorite is the sirloin steak and eggs or anything from the breakfast menu--served all day and night! You get to know the service people easily, and they remember us with a smile and good service. Seating for about 8 can be accomodated, but not a really large group at one table. Love it!
