“Saigon - West Coast style!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

If you want to experience Viet Nam without the airfare, drive to Westminster, California where you will find Little Saigon. I first heard of "Little Saigon" while visiting real Saigon in Viet Nam. Natives asked me if I had been to "Little Saigon" (I hadn't) and then they proceeded to tell me about it. Many had family members who had fled Viet Nam in the '70's and eventually started businesses there. It is a tapestry of Vietnamese culture including restaurants, fish, meat and & produce food markets, novelties, fabrics, gold/jewelry shops and a variety of other venues and experiences. There is nothing like visiting Southeast Asia but Little Saigon is an eclectic and exciting community that brings a blend of Vietnam to the West Coast. It is well worth visiting but do your research first. Determine what you want to see, where it is and then map it. Traffic is challenging and the last thing you want to do is just drive there expecting to arrive in the village or contained area. It is spread out thus you need to organize your visit.

“Crazy Traffic, Great French Bakeries”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Great French style bakeries (ah, the baguettes...), exotic produce shopping (can you say durian?). Go there on a Saturday morning, if you have a death wish. The traffic will drive you crazy, until you leave Westminster (Bolsa, between Euclid and Brookhurst is the epicenter).

“Amazing Little Saigon”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

There are kinds of international cultures in LA. Like everything except the traffic around LA. We have tried different types of food in several restaurants and they are different from where we live in Arizona. We enjoyed the trip a lot.
