“What a rip off”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

To start it was pitch dark when we went in and very hot with lots of flies. No childrens menu so we were told we could order half portion at half price only to be told after dinner was served to us that we would have to pay fill price and that we could have the other half portion to take home, not much good when you are on the road next day. Once dinner arrived had to flight the flies to stay away while I ate. Both my husband and I ordered different salads but got the exact same, lettuce, chickpeas and kidneys beans with just different dressings and all this came to $100 for 2 adults and 2 children - do not waste youre money

“Great Stay”
Reviewed April 7, 2012

Liked everything close to the hotel: its parking, freeway onramp and exit, gas stations. Continental Breakfast included with the price and getting to get my military discount made the stay very affordable! Quiet, comfortable, and accommodating. Would have preferred the simming pool being enclosed, as the wind was too cold to step out into.

Wow... Try the food.. Amazing owners and you are part of the family when you walk through the swinging doors! There is no hotel but the building has been here forever and turned into restaurant!

“Suprise! Fine dining near the Westley Holiday Inn Express.”
Reviewed December 2, 2010

When we checked into the Holiday Inn Express in Westley I asked about a place
for dinner. After all, we were in the middle of nowhere. The clerk pointed us
off to the "Westley Hotel". That was a small adventure. By the time we were
ready to eat, it was very dark and we started off down this road that lead East
out into the flats east of I-5. It was very black out, not a light to be seen,
no stars, just miles of agriculture that we could just barely see in the
headlights off to the side. We finally came to the metropolis of Westley . No street lights, some bright lights by the Westley Market and
a few doors down, some dim lights and some Christmas lights in the front of the
Westley Hotel. There were no cars around the hotel. Just the
blinking of the Budweiser sign in the window of the "Lounge". You'll have to
use your imagination to picture what it was like in the very dark night.

We went in. We were greated by an elderly lady behind the bar and we saw a few
tables that could have been for dining. I asked if there was a dinner menu.
"Of course we have a dinner menu!" came the answer in a thick European accent.
She lead us through some swinging doors like the entrance to every saloon in
every western movie. Behind the doors was the nicest dining room with Christmas
decorations, subdued lighting from small red shaded sconce lighting, linen table
cloths, low key country music and very old pictures on the walls of the glory days of Westley.

To make a long story short, the food (mostly steaks, chicken and seafood) was
excellent, Outstanding salad. Excellent home made minestrone and chicken noodle
soups. My wife had a rib eye steak. I had chicken breasts with an apricot sauce.
We had a very pleasant and competent young waitress and enjoyed the dinner.
There was one other couple in the dining room. They were from San Jose and
visit people near Westley (in Gustine) and always stop at the Westley Hotel
because it is so good.
