Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village

Spent one night here with the family. Never stayed in a Four-Season before but have stayed in other luxury hotels. We were playing in a soccer tournament in Thousand Oaks and our kids love to swim so we thought we would save ourselves the drive back and forth and stay at the Four Seasons. Used WhataHotel.com to get a great rate and food credit. Hotel was very nice. Service was outstanding, they give our kids little stuffed animals and send juice and cookies to our room. They also send up kid-sized bathrobes. We were provided a free upgrade to a room with a fountain view (see pictures of the wedding that was going on when we got to our room). I saw other reviews that mentioned the wc door in the bathroom - it is weird that that the door is glass and doesn't go to the floor. Ate room service for dinner and breakfast - both were very good. I had the salmon for dinner and split the french toast and omelette for breakfast. Everything was great. We also check out a couple movies from the concierge and the kids watched those. Room was quiet, did not hear any freeway noise. We went into the teen and kids rooms. Free pool table and video games. Foosball table didn't have a ball and the concierge only had a ping-pong ball which didn't work right.
I did have a couple issues though. The outdoor pool is adult only. I might have missed it when I made the reservation but I don't recall seeing this being mentioned. The indoor pool is nice - probably the nicest indoor pool i have seen - after seeing the indoor pool, I might not have even used the outdoor pool, but I wanted the option. Second, although the indoor pool was nice, it was a mess. Towels everywhere, room service carts with left-over food, food on the floor - didn't look like anyone had been in to clean up all day.

Thank you so much for sharing a review of your recent stay with us. I'm delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed a fun "staycation" with us, and I'm especially thrilled that your children enjoyed all of the amenities and activities we have available. I've also shared your comments with our fitness center manager to ensure that we are servicing the indoor pool area regularly. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We hope to see you again, whether for a soccer tournament or just for a fun getaway. :) ~Allie

Maybe the hotel was fully booked, but we spent a lot of time waiting - for valet car service, for room service, and even to get a seat at the pool. There's an 18 and older outdoor pool that was not available to use with our kids. The hotel has a membership spa/club available to locals, and the pool is a big local weekend hangout. We had to wait 30 minutes to get a lounge chair - not really acceptable. Breakfast room service took more than 1 hour each morning - also not acceptable for yogurt and coffee.
We are regulars at other Four Seasons properties. This would make a nice Hyatt or other 4-stoar brand. The hotel is not properly staffed to accomodate guests.

We stayed here for a wedding this past weekend. The hotel is gorgeous, the service is amazing, the guest rooms are exquisite, but the hotel layout is confusing. The wedding ceremony spot is pretty, the room is kind of dark and stale...but the wedding food was outstanding. We had a great experience here, and you would never know it is in a suburb!

The usual Four Seasons courtesy and amentities you'd expect. It was wierd being next to the ventura freeway. The freeway noise is masked by the large waterfall. The spa is very health oriented with special "healing" services. My room was decorated with Chinoiserie, and a beautiful large cast iron bathtub set in marble~ couldn't resist. Self park was a short distance, with an awkward walk way, so I detoured through the rose garden. Malibu golf and Malibu wine tasting 20 minutes away up Kanan Dume. Stayed for a work conference. Would consider a good LA stay-cation.

I've stayed here twice and will return again. The staff is excellent. Rooms are very nice and the grounds of the hotel are stunning. Plenty of good restaurants from the excellent Japanese, to the bar restaurant and the two main hotel restaurants. The brunch is wonderful on the weekends. The big draw for me was the huge spa and the treamments, pool area, steam and indoor jacuzzi's. They have cooking lesson, a wellness center with wonderful treatments. This place is an oasis for the spa.

Yes, the hotel is off the freeway but i never noticed that once inside the grounds.

If you are used to staying at Four Seasons resorts this property may disappoint you. It is located freeway adjacent in Westlake and doesn't have a whole lot of character or appeal. The rooms are average and the overall atmosphere of the place is somewhat stale. The usual excellent Four Seasons service still exists and the Sunday brunch is excellent. Pool complex is ordinary and overcrowded and will not allow anyone under 18. The whole property reminds me of "the San Fernando Valley."

My wife and I stayed here for a two-night get-away from Los Angeles. Great rooms and very accommodating service. The best part of the hotel is the spa and outdoor pool, which are connected. Spa is very well kept and had a large steam room. Pool area has plenty of lounges, all of which are well situated Vis-a-Vis sun and pool.
The only soft spot is the food. The main restaurant seems to be full time buffet. Onyx is ok.
The bar is great. Very comfortable and well-balanced drinks.
