“Don't go!”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

There is nothing Italian about this restaurant. Since when do Italians deep fry their ravioli? Don't ask for oil and balsamic as a dressing because they don't have any balsamic only blue cheese or ranch dressing - very Italian.

“Unenlightened”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

Walking in on a warm spring day, from the bright sunlight of the parking lot to the dim and almost dank, warm, humid environment with real tea light candles flickering over the papered linen clothed tables, you smell...the unchanged, the unmodern, the unprogressive.  You'll see seniors at the bar chatting up either middle aged or ancient aged wait staff, their voices alternately soft or loud, depending on the story, but you can still be distracted by...the smell of $8 cooked asparagus and garlic buttered hoagie rolls, along with frozen calamari rings flash fried and served with "special" sauce of ketchup mixed with mustard. Yeah.
The iced tea is fresh and strong, but that's where it ends. This place may be an institution, which is why it is the way it is, and why it desperately needs refreshing. How about an outdoor patio? Bigger windows, or heaven forbid, a wee bit of sunlight?

Ah, but it is a restaurant after all. The food is okay, old standards of spaghetti, ravioli, burgers and fries, at least on the lunch menu.  Nothing new, unfrozen or not right off the US Foods/Sysco/Sam's/Costco truck. There's beer and a Chardonnay if you like, among other libations, and the bar is a comfy spot to park your padded carcass for a while, but beware of the sound of flip flops as regulars slog past you on the way to the dining room for their salad that looks freshly poured out of a ten day old bag of lettuce mix from the grocery store, topped with yesterday's canned garbanzo beans as a garnish.

Now wait a minute. The service genuine, friendly, helpful and patient. Food service is fast, accurate and dependable.  Would you ever return? Not unless the menu reveals fresh and enlightened cuisine and some uv rays filtering in instead of the silliness of tea lights at two p.m.

“Forever”

It was a long time ago like in 1964. But hey, they are still in business so they must be good otherwise they would not still be there.

Welcoming atmosphere -- I've been going here for 40 years, and it never fails to make me feel welcome. The food's great, too!

“A local tradition”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

This family owned business was here before the town developed. Home made country Italian style dishes including freshly made ravioli. They also have daily specials like corned beef and cabbage. The locals love it.
