This was a great hotel - really large, well appointed rooms with a sumptuous washroom and nice sized balcony. We also thought the complimentary breakfast spread and lattes were really well done. We were celebrating our anniversary and they send up champagne and fruit, which was a lovely touch. The room service, albeit slightly pricey, was really delicious as well. Overall, the service was incredible and I would definitely stay here again. Just one tiny issue - the pool was packed and we had to wait almost an hr to get a lounger. If pool time is important to you, this could be an issue.

Pros: Location, quick check-in, clean room, big bathroom, nice decor in lobby & common areas, beautiful continental breakfast, attentive staff (mostly).

Cons: Very overpriced on all accounts, even for the neighborhood. Calling a regular room a "suite" doesn't really make it a suite. Nicely appointed decor but it's just a box with a balcony; depending on where you are located, your "vista" views could be underwhelming at best. Rooftop pool is very nice, view up there is great, however the area (and pool) is tiny. If there is a wedding party or an event happening, you may have to wait several hours for a lounge chair. Drinks & food are very, very expensive. Gordon Ramsay restaurant... really wanted to like the food but portions are super tiny and for the price tag, you expect to be blown away, which wasn't the case. Good enough, but nothing to write home about.

Overall, I'd say we had a $300-400 experience with a $700 price tag (one night w/dinner package, when you count room, taxes, valet, & a few drinks at the pool bar).

If it's your first time in LA and you don't mind the price tag to experience a bit of a scene, go for it, you'll probably enjoy this hotel and location. I'd recommend getting the lower priced rooms though because the vista suite (three levels up from the regular room) was absolutely underwhelming and mostly felt like a standard room.

i have stayed at his hotel for five nights with my girlfriend in august.

we had high expectations for this hotel due to the reviews and price paid. when we first arrived the staff was very nice and efficient. the lobby is very nice and gives the impression of luxury. we were escorted to our room on the 8th floor.

one remark about choosing rooms: i would recommend not to choose the ones with the larger balconies because they are on the lower floors so basically they have no view. the regular balcony is big enough.

the room itself was quite impressive: a massive bed in a vast room with a sofa and a desk with flat screen TV (and free internet access). the most impressive was the bathroom though: all in black and white mosaic, a double walk in shower and a huge bathtub.

we did not experience dinner at gordon ramsey's but we spent some time at the pool. its area is very nice (but be careful of the slippery floor)

the breakfast was a buffet and was good.

the hotel is just off sunset which is a very convenient location.

it is true that there is a special atmosphere at this hotel which i will not try to describe. it's just something that you feel when you are there. of our LA exerience, the hotel is what we liked most!!!

Everything about our stay here was fantastic - the service, the hotel, the front desk, the cleaning staff, the pool deck - everything!
The staff are friendly and helpful - they offered late check out until 2PM and access to the pool deck facilities until we needed to leave for the airport.
Nothing was too mcuh trouble and we found the booking process easy and worth every cent!

The London West Hollywood was a delight in every possible way. The décor and design demonstrate a remarkable attention to detail, and the Gordon Ramsay restaurant is visually stunning in pastel blues, pinks and gold.
But the most appealing feature for us was the hotel’s location, just seconds from Sunset Boulevard in the heart of West Hollywood – a home base from which one can actually enjoy large parts of Los Angeles on foot.
Perhaps the most beautiful part of the hotel is the rooftop pool and restaurant/lounge; a sublime spot for breakfast. Finally, this is the only hotel we’ve ever been in with double showers, for two, which can be good fun.

The designers did a wonderful job here, taking what seems like a 1960's era building and tranforming it into an English-accented 4-star hotel. I would not say it's a 4.5-star hotel, though and here's why. For me, to be just less than 5-stars you need not only excellent service, which the London West Hollywood has but also an attention to detail. For example - and I overheard that this is temporary - the fitness area is really sub-par, especially when you consider what some Westins and Hilton's offer. Plus the rooftop area where it resides, right next to the pool, looks dingy. Then there are the windows. If you're going to spend the money and renovate a hotel, and it sits right next to the Sunset Strip, please install double-pane windows. I had silence in my room but only with ear plugs.

We stayed here for only one night and were very impressed. The area the hotel is in is nothing special but the hotel itself is fantastic. Staff were always helpful, check in was quick even though we had to wait 30 mins until our room was ready as we arrive at 1pm. The check in lady could see were thirsty and got us bottles of water during our 5 min check in.

It was our honeymoon and after a short sight seeing trip the hotel had left up bubbly, chocolates and fruit, simple but very nice touch.

Roof top pool area is great, rooms are big and spacious. We had a crown suite with balcony. Bathroom is huge. Ate at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant, really isn't anything special, another in his chain of so-so restaurants, at this stage he should consider cutting back on what his name goes on.

All in all this is a great hotel, great value and good staff. The only downside to it is I subsequently stayed in the Beverly Wilshire.
