“My New LA Favorite”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

Many places in America do not do customer service right, hint - it's in the myriad of little details. Sunset Tower gets it right. From the staff knowing your name, to the inviting fireplaces; meals and drinks with an extraordinary view, to a turndown service with warm cookies bedside; a good onsite spa for escaping the world, yet the most secure hassle free ubiquitous Internet access I've seen in a hotel.

Sunset Tower does not feel so much like a hotel as a warm and inviting home. My new LA favorite.

There is a reason why i continue to go back to this historical gem, over and over again, the service standards here are immpecable.....and the staff will make an effort to constantly go above and beyond to make you happy no matter how big or small your request/issue is. turndown cookies are amazing, the higher floor you go up the better the view. i cannot honestly think of any bad experiences i have had here at all non whatsoever......
i was staying at the hotel during the E3 conference where all hotels were fully booked including this one, but yet i hardly felt that it was busy regardless of the time of day or time i came back and forth from the hotel. Tim is the best man to speak to if you need to know your way around LA or the new spots for dinner...his ear is literally to the ground.....lol

one thing that is definately a must here is to try out the Tower bar...my receommendations...pigs in the blanket and teh grilled artichoke.....yummmm, but then again try everything on it, ambience is very cosy...i could go on and on about this place but it is definately a home away from home when im in town for business......great team, great service and great attitude among the staff.....keep it up guys and see you soon...
FYI book via Amex fine resorts plan, and get cool freebies and upgrades

Room Tip: the higher the floor the better the view of Hollywood and beyond

Awesome place to stay. This is my go to place in the city. The restaurant/ Tower Bar has one of the best views in the city not to mention...the service is hands down the best in LA. We usually get seated by Dimitri who is a world renowned host and Justin, Victoria and Derek normally serve us in the restaurant the are all awesome!! The day host Ava is extremly professional. Great staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are also really nice especially the Townhouse suits. Tim the manager of the hotel is really a nice and accomodating in every way. The valet parking staff is also great!

A great mix of old Hollywood Glam and up to date decor with outstanding service. So friendly and helpful. Love the Terrace for breakfast/ brunch and lunch. The Tower bar and dining room are fabulous for upscale glam with fantastic cocktails, excellent food and music. Mr Demetri will take very good care of you. Love the ambience. Our suite was perfect and the floor to ceiling windows ensure great views. Very special.
Charming and unique pool area.

Had brunch recently at the Terrace Restaurant at the Sunset Tower Hotel. The service was great (our servers, Tyler and Abby, were very helpful when we asked for recommendations and a table change) and the food was good though pricey (i had the lobster tacos).

I didn't give it 5 stars because it is a tough environment for non-smokers since it is all open and people can smoke anywhere.

I've stayed here quite a few times this year, a couple times with my family, and we love it. Our son was sick on one trip and Angel brought him soup nonstop, and Dmitri and everyone else there is absolutely wonderful and welcoming. Definitely try the Turkish steam room downstairs in the spa - it's very simple and understated and a great way to settle in and scrub off the day. I loved being able to walk up and down Sunset to a bunch of great bookstores and restaurants, and this hotel feels like home to me and I can't wait to go back.

Three years ago, we stayed at the Sunset Tower Hotel for the first time, and we enjoyed our stay so much that it wasn't difficult to choose a hotel for our Los Angeles trip. Like last time, the service at the Sunset Tower Hotel was excellent: everyone at the valet and bell service was very friendly and professional. We were welcomed back by the courteous staff at check-in. The service at breakfast was exceptionally friendly: we looked forward to our breakfast - by the pool, with a wonderful view of LA - every day. This also brings us to the one marked improvement in comparison to our stay three years ago: the continental breakfast - which was included in our rate - had improved vastly: the fresh fruit and bread selection etc was now all of the highest quality. Our junior suite on the 14th floor, with its wonderful art deco windows, featured fabulous views of Sunset Boulevard, the Hollywood Hills, and of LA. The decor fits the style of this art deco landmark building. The bathroom was large and very comfortable, and we enjoyed the Kiehls products. We were sad to leave our room after five nights, but we'll be sure to return in the near future.
