This is an amazing little gem bang in the midst of Beverly Hills and WeHo. Amazingly priced for such a posh address and well-equipped rooms and facilities. Free Wi-Fi in the room too. Right next door is my fave, Trader Joe's and Starbucks. Parking is available too and the Beverly Center is walking distance, even tho no one walks in LA! The rooms were very clean and the same day laundry service was excellent. It's the perfect place to check into when you want to be around Rodeo Drive and the Sunset strip. I always stay here now when I am on a shopping trip in LA or just want to hang with friends living in the area.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ramada Plaza WeHo. Rooms are very clean, modern and spacious. Staff were helpful, in particular Jose he was excellent and very friendly! The location is excellent for Hollywood and Beverley Hills. Unfortunately it was about a $60 cab fare from the airport!! But I am sure you can get shuttle services for cheaper. Great for restaurants and bars. A very friendly up market area. The restaurant next door, Primo Bistro, is fantastic, excellent food at a very reasonable price, would highly recommend eating there. Would definitely recommend. Probably not the best place for kids, i.e. the location suits adults.

I have stayed here times, both when I was just needing to get away and when I had decided to move to LA from Texas. I have enjoyed the accomodations and especially the staff, who have always been warm and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and extremely clean. The only complaint that I have is that dependig on the room and the dates you stay can be a little noisy, but the staff can't help that as Santa Monica Blvd. can be a little loud, esp. during gay pride, if you are looking for quiet, check the dates and the events going on.
My girlfriend and I went down to some of the gay eablishments one night and had a blast. Try this out one night while you are staying here, there are some great restaurants and fun bars, plus all of this is within walking distance. We don't drink and drive so both of us got to let loose a little.

Have stayed here on and off for a number of years- and regard it as a truly iconic hotel with a great location for both Hollywood /Beverley hills just down the road...
It had an update since my last visit and rooms are now even better with plasma TV's new a/c systems - but beware- i spent about half an hour trying to open the thermostat for the a/c only to eventually discover its controls are touch sensitive! Oe disadvantahe is that the phones are not beside the beds but on the desk but gather that there is a new system going in so this should be rectified!
Eateries are the bistro next door which has great food ,and a selection of restraunts futher down the street. If an early breakfast is your thing there is an I-Hop within easy walking distance .
This is a fav hotel with both the Gay community. Austrailan and British visitors and is truly now a great place to stay- provided they iron out the one or two minor issues such as I have mentioned

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were great but that was the only good thing about it. It is not a hotel for families . Every one that we saw was Gay. We found it hard to get around as we had to get taxis everywhere, which was quite expensive. I feel that we got ripped off with the amount of money that we payed to stay here. I would never stay here again . Make sure that you search for other hotels before you decide to book this one .

Though the city of West Hollywood has a gay population, the majority of residents are not gay.

Ramada Plaza is centrally located in West Hollywood and is one of the best value for money hotels in the city.

We offer most of the amenities that our local luxury hotels offer plus we have 10 retail locations onsite which no other property can offer.

The hotel was renovated in 2009, so the rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable.

Families from around the world stay at the hotel whether to visit Universal Studios or Disneyland.

Concerning transportation, the hotel has an Enterprise rent-a-car outlet on-site, which offers guests of the hotel a discount on auto rentals.

Whether you stay at the Ramada Plaza or another local hotel, the price of a taxi cab would be the same price. We recommend our guests use a rental car. Unfortunately, most local hotels cannot offer an onsite rental car agency, however Ramada Plaza can!

I agree with the majority of the reviews that have already been written. This is a good value for the location. I'm going to note some things for travelers who are seriously considering this hotel.

My friend and I stayed for five nights. We felt safe, we felt well treated by the staff, and we were pleased with the value. When you visit LA, you must think about LOCATION. If you choose to stay in West Hollywood, it's because you want to be close to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, the Sunset Strip, and the urban buzz. If Disneyland is your priority, Anaheim has many better values. The San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, and the LAX area have nicer hotels for cheaper prices. West Hollywood, like Santa Monica, is an expensive neighborhood. It's also a desirable neighborhood for travelers like me. But you should recognize this when you book a hotel in LA. Do your homework.

The property has a LARGE variety of rooms and suites. The "suites" are roomy, and the regular "rooms" are not so roomy. When you reserve, you need to understand that there are more choices than just "2 queens" or "1 king." We stayed in a regular room with two queens. It was not spacious, but it was enough for us. A suite would have had more room, and would have had a microwave.

During our stay, we did not see any children. (If amusement parks are the reason for your visit, there are cheaper places in Anaheim!) About a third of the clientele was European tourists, another third was gay, and the remaining third was couples and singles. It's safe for children. But this location does not draw family vacationers.

West Hollywood is famous for its gay population. It is also famous for its Russian immigrants. The hotel's staff was mostly Russian or Eastern European in origin. We found that whenever we asked for help, we received it promptly and efficiently. The service was commensurate with the location, the very urban environment, and the price we paid for our room.

The infamous $27 parking fee is high. But you need to factor the cost of parking into any hotel in LA. There is no free parking in Hollywood, WeHo, or Beverly Hills. The parking fee lets you self-park, or you can tip the valet to do it for you. When you check in, the front desk gives you a card to display on your dashboard. Whenever you drive in, you get a ticket. (Drive past the valet and self-park, if that's what you want to do.) Whenever you exit, you hand the ticket and your card to the parking booth attendant. He gives you the card back. In short, it's easy to get in and out. It's clean, secure, and convenient. And for $27 per day, you'd expect that.

The location is fantastic. That's probably a key reason to stay in this hotel. As other reviewers have noted, you can walk to many restaurants and bars. Trader Joe's is right next door, for snacks and light groceries. The 25-cent DASH bus stops right on the corner of La Cienega, and will take you to the heart of Hollywood every twenty minutes. The big red rapid bus (#704) will speed you to downtown or Santa Monica. It's uphill to the Sunset Strip. If you're young and fit, an easy walk. We drove.

Hollywood & Highland is an important crossroads. From there, we took the subway (Red Line) downtown, on two occasions. You can get to Hollywood & Highland for twenty-five cents on the DASH. Or you can stay there, at the Renaissance, for about three times the price that you'll pay for this Ramada. It's all about location.

I would stay in this hotel again, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the heart of west Los Angeles.

We got a Loft King room at a great rate from ramada.com. The room was quite large and had been updated, but all the upgrades were cosmetic. The bathroom was still original so was the wet bar. However the two 42" LCD TVs (one in the living room and one in the upstairs bedroom) were both quite nice.

Yes parking was $27 bucks a day, but it's LA, you have to pay to park everywhere. The staff was alright, nothing outstanding. The best thing this hotel has going for it is it's location. Starbucks steps from the front door, plus this hotel was steps from all the great clubs and bars including The Abbey and Hamburger Mary's. This is the best location if you are looking for a great place within walking distance of all the bars.

However I still say, this is LA, you must have a car to get anywhere worth going.

I'd stay here again if I was just looking for a cheap place to crash after a night of drinking. But for a vacation spot, I'd rather go to Palm Springs.
