“Desk staff extremely rude”

Good Location, but hotel in need of refurbishment. Rooms have a rather tired decor and are dirty
Desk staff are extremely rude
Parking expensive at $25 /night and hidden cost of safe is ridiculous.

Loved LA but hated the Ramada West Hollywood. We wanted to stay in WeHo due to its location (near Sunset, proximity to shops and bars, nightlife), and the Ramada's Web site looked good. The hotel was terrible. We upgraded to a "suite," which consisted of a dumpy room with a view of an alley and a desk. Service was terrible, too. We never got new soap or shampoo and ran out after two days. The bathroom was filthy, too. Horrible!

This hotel has a great location near Sunset Blvd. The carpet in my room had dark stains, the toilet had paint peeling away. All night you could hear people shouting either outside in the parking lot or in the hallway and slamming doors. I'm glad I only booked this for one night....and never again!

tmy friend and i stayed here for three night. it was a great hotel. keep in mind that it is in the gay district of west hollywood, the people were more then welcome to help us out in any way they could. the rooms were a little outdated but clean and nice. it is about a block away from the sunset strip. i would recomend driving or taking a taxi though. it was about 5 to 10 min away from rodeo drive, and about 5 from melrose ave. i would recomend anyone to stay here that are in the age range of 18-30.

We stayed in what the front desk deemed to be the "best room in the hotel" and it definitely was not. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite of disgust. It was so horrible we checked out early and stayed 1 night instead of 3. The floors were covered in stains and badly needed cleaning that we kept our shoes on the entire time. When we tried to iron our clothes, the ironing board was completely stained we had to place a towel over the top of the ironing board. Needless to say the rooms are extremely run down and I definitely expected better quality from a Ramada branded hotel. The hotel itself is pretty dirty and not maintained at all. Worst of all the valet decided to take a short cut and backed up our car over the 2 concrete blocks, because he was too impatient to wait for the row of cars to move. I did not pay $250/night to stay in hotel to feel uterly uncomfortable.

The desk clerks are surly. Rooms are not clean. Rooms need renovation. We were in a suite. Maids regularly only placed 2 towels in the suite though there were 3 of us. No pool towels. At checkout, the desk clerk insisted that I pay cash for the last day of parking and then refused to give me a receipt and told the parking attend that I did not pay. Also, upon checkout, I was asked if we used the hotel safe and then was told that I had to pay an additional $1 per day for having used it even though no mention was made previously.

First, let me start by saying that with the right management, this hotel could be spectacular. It is in a very gay area, but the location is nice and doesn't seem as dangerous as others are saying on this site.
But it was SOOO poorly run it was sick. We usually do a couple of weekend trips a year, and this was one of the WORST hotels I have stayed in for the money.

First, we were supposed to check in at 3, when the room wasn't ready we didn't make a big deal. They said it would be done by 4. When we came back at 5, they had given away our room and then put us in a room by the elevator. You CONSTANTLY heard the start and stop of the elevator. My favorite was when the russian manager shrugged his shoulders when I got a little aggravated about wanting to check into my room at 5 in the evening when it was supposed to be ready at 3.

The heated pool was a lie. It was heated to the air temperature which was freezing in California February. The weight room is two or three junky and old weight machines. THERE IS NO FREE INTERNET THERE, and the paid internet they have sucks. The room was pretty dirty. The parking was expensive and there was a night where we COULD NOT FIND A SPOT. We paid $22 a day to not find a spot and got no help from management.

The Russian manager was a horrible person, and he was the only person we kept dealing with. One elevator was broke and the other one was soooo slow that all people would do was complain about the slowness.

To conclude, if you have other choices, or similar choices, try them first. If you are desperate, this isn't bad, but I would have easily spent a bit more money for a much better experience. Get new management Ramada, because whoever runs that hotel now is just tossing money down the drain. If I was the regional boss, I would fire the whole place and put in people who know what's going on.
