I loved this place! My friend wasn't convinced when I booked but I was quietly confident and we were so pleased when we got there. The staff are so friendly and they gave us a gorgeous room that had doors opening out to the pool - perfect. The room was a great size with 2 beds. There was lots of storage - good for 2 girls with huge cases - it wasn't cramped in the slightest. We had a small kitchen area which we didn't use but thought it was a nice touch. We weren't too lucky with the weather but it was so nice to just open the doors and sunloungers being right there. The courtyard where the doors open out to is absolutely beautiful. The bathroom was big and spotlessly clean.

The breakfast was good. So nice to get up and have a coffee and a bagel. There were also doughnuts, pastries, muffins, cereals and juices on offer.

I thought the location was great.

My only gripe would be the floorboards. It sounded as though guests in the room above were line dancing...every step could be heard and at some silly hour it was really noisy for a long time. But it wouldn't stop me going back. In fact, I can't wait to.

this is like my 6th time staying here, and my husband and i just love it.the staff is great! carlos the hotel manager is great and he makes sure that your stay is very comfortable! we always stay in the rooms that face sunset blvd, cause we dont mind the noise and we just love the entertainment you get from the people who are on sunset blvd, but you can get a very quiet room any where else in the hotel. i love this hotel its clean comfortable, and conveinent i wont stay any where else in L.A. this place is the best!

Had 5 nites here.
When booking we specifically asked for a room away from Sunset Blvd & on an upper floor, which they granted.
Great views of pool & garden, which were well maintained & a pleasure to look out onto.
Bus at the door which we used for the entire viisit.
Continental breakfast suited us. Gym & pool for my husband.
Easy & safe to walk to restaurants.
Room a little small, but good value with a fridge & microwave.
Floor above squeaky from the occupants.....interesting to note someone else mentioned that too.......
Hotel staff helpful on our arrival when we had major issues with the cab drivers route &
fare from LAX. Overall service was fine.
Would have been better if the windows opened outwards so fresh air could enter but you could still pull across the sheer curtains fro some privacy.....meaning they opened inwards & therefore could not pull curtain across as the window was in the way.

This Best Western is alot nicer than any Best Western I've ever stayed in here in Australia!
Right across the road from Saddle Ranch Chop House and you can walk everywhere!
Great rooms, friendly staff and safe location.
Would stay here again in a second!

We stayed for 4 nights and decided to stay here because of the other reviews we read. Here's the things we liked and didn't like:

PROS
- Flat screen TV's in room
- Coffee Maker and coffee supply in room (no charge)
- Clean Towels and Linen
- Tolieties
- Comfortable modern bathroom.
- Comfortable bed with doona not sheets and blankets (a big +)
- Near the HoponHopoff Stop at the Hyatt across the street
- On Sunset Blvd and close to House of Blues
- Breakfast included (Pastries, Danish, Cereal, Milk, Coffee, Juice, Muffins, Bagels, Toast - but, no cooked breakfast)
- Fridge (very small and tiny freezer part) and microwave in room
- Great view if you get a room pool side
- Elevator to most rooms (you go down to the rooms from the lobby, not up)

CONS
- Within walking distance of Hollywood Blvd, but be warned, a long walk about 2 miles (more than 4kms) to the good stuff like the Walk of fame.
- Walls are paper thin
- Floors are squeaky so please remember this when you feel like dancing in your room at midnight.
- We were charged 3 times for the one stay against our credit card. Remember to check you credit for any additional charges from this hotel.
- Rooms are smaller than in the photos.
- Parking is $12 US per night even if you are only parked in there while taking your bags up to your room. The parking spots are a very tight squeeze.

TRAVELLER'S TIPS
- Buy some food and cook in your room, cheaper and easier
- Buy the hop on hop off pass for the red doubledecker, great mode of transport (particularly to the hotel) it runs every 40 mins to most stops and you can buy your tix near the Chinese Theatre.
- Be careful of tour hustlers on Hollywood Blvd, they are really sweet to begin with but can become quite rude when you say no. Try not to make eye contact and keep you distance from them. Also there are Wanna Be Music Artists selling burnt CD's, if you have the unfortune of getting talked into buying one, make sure you only have $1 or 2 US in you hand otherwise they will pressure you to give whole lot more ($20, 50, 100 US) for one crappy burnt CD which you can't get a refund for if there's no songs on there.
- Universal Studios is great, you need to devote a whole day. The Studio Tour is the best.
- If you are from Australia, you will love The Grove at Farmer's Market and the walk along Rodeo Drive.
- The Hollywood Museum makes you check in your cameras as no photography is allowed
- If you want to go to Disneyland or other areas around LA, you will need
a car!!!!!
- Don't forget to check out the Southern California City Pass. It will save you a tonne of money (Includes: Disneyland, DCA park hopper, San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park, Sea World and Universal Studio Tickets)

All in all, the stay was good.

this hotel had a very classy and cozy feel. It sits right in the middle of the sunset strip with a awesome view of LA, you can even see the beach. The front desk staff was so warm, professional and helpful, they directed my lady friend and I to the best local restaurants and watering holes. We were right next to the House of Blues, the Comedy Store and several other cool night spots. If you love sun bathing they have these great rooms whose french doors privately open up poolside. Their breakfast was simple and charming. We will definitely be back.

A special hotel in a great location. Love the pool side rooms and flowers. Beautiful.

Very competitive price. Simple b-fast included.

Rooms are not great, bed and TV is A+ but the rest of the room was pretty ordinary. My door didn't close right and the telephone was kaput.

I would recommend this for vacationers and for business, if you want to give your clients a taste of classic L.A.
