Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel
Ranked #5 of 19 Hotels in West Hollywood
Certificate of Excellence

Stayed here last year and although the location is great, as a single woman biz traveller I would *never* stay here again - the back fire door to the alley is propped open all the time (it was right outside my room) and the sliding doors had no security locks in any way. This is a fun but still dicey area (i.e. it isn't unusual to find tweakers walking down Sunset at all times of the day) and these security issues are a huge concern to me. The hotel wasn't interested in my concerns nor in doing anything about it. Do exercise caution if you choose to stay here.

Dear Tripadvisor,
We appreciate all our guest’s comments. As we explained to the guest when she stayed here a year and a half ago, all entry doors into the hotel itself require a room key to gain access. The doors she was concerned about are Interior Fire Safety doors and according to local fire codes must not be locked.

I wish we had stayed here for a week, as we didn't have enough time to do everything there is to do in Los Angeles. We stayed for two nights and 3 days....

Upon our late check-in, we were put in a dinky room on the 1st floor that had been used (bath towel, garbage can, sheets) and upon my call to the front desk we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge...*first 5 picture is of the suite* .....As I said, it was late and they knew no one would be renting their suite, but we were to be moved the next day.
After a bountiful "free" breakfast, we were moved to a poolside room and the kids immediately headed for the pool and swam until afternoon...

This is a perfect family hotel, and with the "Dash" public transportation right infront of the hotel, don't even waste your money on a cab to go to Hollywood Blvd. We paid .25 cents each to go on the Dash down Sunset and around to Hollywood Blvd. stop at the Kodak Theater....the cab fare would have cost 15.00 bucks!...You can visit all the sites along Hollywood Blvd. and even catch the public subway system to Olivera St. right near the Kodak Theater!....Once you're ready to go back to the hotel, stand infront of the Kodak Theater's bus stop and Dash will take you back to the Best Western (stopping across the street)...talk to the driver and he'll tell you where to get on and off....Save your money and have a nice lunch....
This hotel is the perfect location to everything and beds are pillow soft~!~..very clean, and parking is secure...:)

I'll be back for sure!!!

This hotel was excellent! A great location and a beautiful property. Very clean rooms and pool area. I particularly enjoyed the view from my bedroom window--it made the stay even more enjoyable. The staff was very helpful and personal, giving us advice on restaurants, maps and driving directions. Not expensive to garage your car here, either, unlike some of the pricier chain hotels in LA. The bus is cheap as well, and it stops right outside the front of the hotel. This can take you down towards the Hollywood sign, Grauman's Chinese Theatre and other tourist attractions. A pharmacy is within walking distance, Starbucks is across the street, and there are a lot of trendy restaurants and bars around the hotel. As previous reviewers have noted, the street is great for clubbing, but I never was disturbed by the activities when I wanted to sleep. Breakfast is not terribly exciting but passable, and for the price we paid per night I can't complain. A perfect hotel for a relaxing and fun LA trip!

Really liked this hotel, strongly recommend it. The staff were friendly, the rooms large and comfortable, great bathroom with an awesome shower and the hotel is in a great location. The complimentry breakfast is good too. We enjoyed the Saddle Ranch pub accross the road, especially the beer towers!

We stayed at the Best Western Sunset Plaza for 3 nights just over 3 weeks ago. We were very happy with this hotel. Checking in and out was quick and easy, staff were friendly. The room we had was of a great size. Nice big bathroom and a small kitchenette with sink and fridge was very handy. Our room looked out onto the courtyard and pool and was very beautiful. The complimentary breakfast was really good with a selection of bagels, donuts, pastries, cereals, toast, fruit and juices to choose from. The location is great as you are right on the Sunset Strip - with House of Blues a 2 min walk and The Viper Room and Whisky A Go Go only maybe a 10-15min walk. I would defitnetly stay at this hotel again.

We just spend one night at the hotel but to be honest I don't have any complains.
The location is superb, which lots of restaurants and bars around. The hotel is clean and the rooms are big, but I have to say I wish we had one of the rooms looking at the swimming pool, which is really nice.
The breakfast was just ok.
I think it is a good hotel for the price we paid.
I will recommend it.

We stayed at the Best Western Sunset Plaza for 5 nights in October, 2007. We couldn't have been happier. Check-in was a breeze, we were checked in and in our rooms in under 10 minutes. The room was large with 2 extremely comfortable queen beds with duvets and heavenly pillows. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave. I had requested a poolside room (booked 6 months in advance) but didn't end up with one, no big deal we weren't in the room during the day anyway and when we were we went and sat by the pool. The courtyard is very quaint, beautiful flowers, lots of chairs, tables, towels etc. I was a little worried about noise as the hotel is right on Sunset but we didn't hear a thing. We didn't even hear noise from the hallways or the adjoining rooms. The continental breakfast was great. The staff were very friendly and able to answer whatever questions we had. Parking wasn't a problem there was always lots of spots and it is very safe.
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Hollywood and would definitely stay there again.
