What a great hostel! We stayed here for twelve nights and when the time had come, we were sad to go.

Location: the location of this hostel is great. It's on N. Fairfax Avenue, close to Farmers Market and the outdoor shopping mall The Grove. There are also several supermarkets nearby.
Parking: the hotel offers free parking inside the building. We've always found a place here, but in case it's full, you can still park for free on the little streets around the hostel.
Staff: staff was friendly and helpful. The hostel is run by young people, I think some of them also travellers working there while staying in LA.

Rooms: we'd booked a regular private room because, although we like to get to know other people, we also like to be able to get some peace and quiet when we need it. Our room was pretty big. We had a double bed, a bunk bed (yes, room for 4 while we were only with two), a flatscreen tv, a table with chairs inside and a table with chairs on our own little balcony. We had our own fridge, a microwave, enough closet space and a decent bathroom with toiletries. And everything was clean. What more could you ask for in a hostel?
Oh by the way: the rooms were located around the tiki bar area, but at midnight everybody that wantd to stay up, had to go to the launch area in the basement so there wouldn't be any more noise and everybody could get a good night's sleep.

Activities and free stuff: the hostel had different activities every night, recurring every week. Free BBQ's, free stand-up comedy, $5 spaghetti, $10 limo ride... And if you weren't into those things, you could always just hang in the Tiki garden or one of the several lounge areas.

I stayed in this hostel for 10 days and loved it. It had free breakfast and about three times a week had free BBQ dinner too. Free shuttles to the sister hostel in Hollywood when they had events on as well. There were events on every night as well as tours and shuttles to the theme parks during the day. I went on the hostel's LA City Tour for $50 and we went all over the place, it was lots of fun. I also took their shuttle to Disneyland and Universal Studios. The bus stop is right up the road, which can get you to Hollywood Boulevard easily. The staff were really friendly, they were all young too. The rooms were tiny and super squashed in but as long as you didn't want to spend too much time in there it was okay. They also had great living areas, a huge kitchen with lots of facilities and free computers with internet. I had a great time and would definitely recommend this hostel.

Room Tip: I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm with in-room bathroom. It was small and squishy but it was good to have a bathroom in the room.

After booking the Orbit (which has now closed) we were directed down the street a few blocks to the other owners hostel 'Banana Bungalow'. The place was really well looked after, has a contiki/island bar in the communal area. The place is located near the farmers market which has some amazing food. Ive got to say that the Friday night limo ride to the 'Boulvard' club was so epic and the club was amazing. Was able to hop into the front fountain in the club and get pictures with some model in a bikini. Amazing worth it for just that alone. Very good hostel in general though.

WOW, what a great place, being the second time in LA we decided to stay at a hostel, it was worth it. We had a private room and you get what you paid for, cable TV and plenty of space.
The place had activities everyday and cheap meals, walking distance to the farmers market.
Free internet and WiFi in the court yard.
Great place to meet people from different countries.

The staff are excellent, they sure know how to party.

Things to Improve:
The smell of cleaning products its very over powering.
Double glassed windows on private rooms facing the street.
Theses are only minor things

Make sure you take advantage of all the actives the hostel has available well worth it.

TIP the bar/food staff well and your stay will be even better :)

Stayed only 2 nights. Positive experience started with the free pickup from LAX Terminal 2 (Note pickup is only at 2pm) and right to the doorstep. Be prepared to drag luggage up stairs as no lift but no biggie. Check in was smooth and simple. Given room 213. Nice clean room with a small balcony. Comes with a bed (a bit too soft for me) and 2 bunk beds, fridge, fan and flatscreen. Only thing was the room did get a bit hot. Wasn't sure if there was any airconditiong. At night though with outside temperatures going down it was OK with the fan.

Free breakfast consisted of coffee, tea, 2 pieces of toast and a bowl of cereal. Sufficient for a good start to the day. I tipped $1 per person for both my wife and myself.

What I liked was the location. Bus 217 can easily gets you to the Grove and Farmer's Market or up to Santa Monica Boulevard where you can change to the 780 bus all the way to Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica Pier. Surrounding area does have some shops sufficient for a quick meal.

A lot of activities are planned by the management of BBWeHo. Didn't have a chance to participate due to the short stay. Has shuttle to LAX at 12pm at a discounted price if your schedule fits.

Overall well worth the price paid. Would like to see the following:-

1. Air conditioning
2. A firmer bed and more substantial pillows.

Highly recommended.
