The Petit Ermitage has a unique decor and a little bit of attitude, but once we got used to it we loved this place.

We had a large room, exactly as depicted on their web site. Everything was extremely comfortable and plush and the staff was excellent, except for a tall woman with black hair who works on the desk during the day and has an annoyingly officious manner.

This is the kind of place where, if you want ice, you have to call for it and have it delivered. But it's worth it! Service is prompt and the staff is delightful.

One odd note: The beds are topped with wonderful comforters. However, when we found our comforter much too warm in the middle of the night, the night staff had a hard time locating a blanket for us. First they brought another comforter. Then they brought another sheet. Finally we got a queen sized blanket and were told we would get a king sized blanket the next day.

However, it turns out this wonderful hotel has no king size blankets! Instead we were given another queen blanket.

There is a romantic pool and lounge on the roof that totally impressed relatives who visited us while we stayed at the Petit Ermitage.

We look forward to staying in this unique place again.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us! Thank you for acknowledging our unique décor as well as our staff - or "family" as we prefer to reference them. Petit features an extensive art collection, eclectic European antiques and hand painted walls – as well as toy elephants in each suite. The salt water pool in our Private Rooftop Club is the ideal place to take a dip in warmer weather and the indoor/ outdoor lounges are an excellent place for entertaining - we're so pleased you had the opportunity to enjoy our property and become part of our family during your stay!

We went for our honeymoon last month and I could not have been more impressed. The decor and room layout did take a day to get used to, but it was very cozy and romantic. Valet staff could not have been more professional and courtesy. We had one small issue during our five day stay, and the owner, Stefan, personally handled the issue very quickly and courteously. The hotel is in a wonderful location. The only downfall is the parking cost per night ($30), but it is Hollywood...so what do you expect. We will definitely be going back for our one year anniversary next year!

We are so pleased you chose Petit Ermitage as the place to enjoy your Honeymoon! Thank you for acknowledging our valet staff. Petit is considered one of the most intimate and romantic properties in the city - many a romance has been kindled while under the stars, warmed by our outdoor fireplace and snuggled under our fur blankets. We can’t wait to welcome you back on your one year anniversary!

First, the positive: The valet parking guys are really friendly and service minded. So are the people working in the restaurant/by the pool. And the pool area is really nice, although somewhat small. And you can smoke there, which is a plus for us (but I guess not for everyone else. However - I think LA should take a chill pill on their attitude towards smoking. Outdoor smoking isn't that bothering. I know - I used to be a non smoker, and only smokes a few with alcohol). Fridge/minibar in hotel room is also a plus. And so is free internet for everyone.

Anyhow, over to the negative: The hotel does NOT live up to it expectations from the photos displayed on internet. The rooms are OLD, and the carpets aren't very inviting. The whole place really needs an upgrade. Our room was spacious, but we stayed in different hotels almost every night for three weeks all around California, and this one was really the most disappointing. They even lacked light bulbs in the room.

Another thing is that the valet parking is 30 dollars/night, and there is no option to park elsewhere. We're a bit annoyed that we weren't informed about this prior to our stay.

It seemed to us that the hotel cheated their way to their four star ranking, by adding services like robes etc, and of course the pool. The feel of the hotel is definitely not four stars.

The stay wasn't terrible in any way, but I think one could do better for the same price.

Thank you for acknowledging our valet staff and providing constructive feedback. Petit Ermitage is a completely renovated property, including all common spaces, as well as all 80 suites. Our Private Rooftop Club, featuring native gardens, a salt water pool and indoor/outdoor lounging and dining spaces is a completely new space on our property and unlike any other in Los Angeles. Our in suite honor bar selections, featuring organic, gourmet choices and complimentary high speed internet are just a few of the amenities we proudly offer our guests. Should your travels take you back to Los Angeles, we hope you will reconsider our Hotel and to have the pleasure of your company again.

I came on business and wanted a place in West Hollywood that wasn't priced ridiculously. I was able to get a good rate on this hotel by bidding on Priceline. It's a pretty cute place, a 1960s apartment building in a residential neighborhood that has been redecorated along a provincial French theme. The rooms are a nice size. It's all a little thread worn, but nothing is falling apart. The bathroom and shower are great. The pool area is very lovely with nice views (but the pool isn't big enough to do laps). The piano in the lounge is a nice feature if you want to play (I did). Parking is expensive, and finding off street parking overnight is difficult, but if you're a city savvy person, it can be done. Internet was free. Neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located. Staff was solicitous. If you're a middle class type who likes Sheratons, I wouldn't say here, but if you like something offbeat, it's pretty decent and clean.

Le Petit was the biggest disappointment of our California Trip. We stayed in 8 different cities and hotels and this was one we were really expecting a lot from the website pictures. Don´t be fooled by that!!! I isn´t half as nice as it looks. We booked an executive suit with a balcony. The room we got had no balcony and was totally different from the one they show on the website as for executive suite. We complained and they said there was nothing they could do. As a matter of fact staff was not helpful in any way. A room accross from ours left a room service tray on the hall in one morning and at night the tray was still there. The furniture seemed old and everything was dark colored, the room itself lacked some light. The neighborhood surroundings of the hotel was a disappointment just as well, there is nothing worth walking to. We got our car everytime and went other places. We were there on a really sunny weekend and wanted to use the pool but weren´t able to because they were having a wedding party on a saturday so the GUESTS COULD NOT USE THE POOL AREA!!! The pool is not as it looks on the website either. My advice is dont stay in this hotel!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your stay on our property. Petit Ermitage is dedicated to continually improving our customer service and the experience of each and every one of our guests. We are a bohemian chic property that is nestled on a quiet residential street in West Hollywood but also conveniently located just steps away from the infamous Sunset Strip – the ideal place to enjoy a live musical performance or indulge in a bit of the nightlife for which the Strip is famed. We very much value the input of our clientele and through this kind of dialogue believe we can continue to improve our guests experience on our property. Thank you for your comments and should your travels take you back to Los Angeles, we hope you to have the opportunity to serve you again.
