Hampton Inns aren't resorts, but they don't pretend to be. The ones I've tried (all in southern California) have all been comfortable and clean and quite new. The breakfasts are more substantial than plain "Continental" (not clear what continent that refers to), but they're not cooked to order as you'd get at an Embassy Suites. For example, they usually have some pre-cooked egg patties and sausage patties, some instant oatmeal packets, a range of coffee and tea (which is available all day), some fruit and some breads. I think the beds are perfectly comfortable. This particular Hampton Inn is pretty much identical to the others I've tried.
