I love old growth redwoods and all these redwood forests are amazing. You can't go wrong when visiting these tall giants. Love them all...

We were so impressed with the HUGE redwoods! The founder's grove in Humboldt Redwood State park is a must stop! The Founder's tree and Dyerville giant are amazing. We had so much fun in this area and on the Avenue of the Giants. Give yourself the better part of a day to do this area justice!

A friend of mine who lives in Eureka recommended stopping here to see redwood trees over Redwood National park. I can see why. The groves are much prettier and scenic and create way better photo opportunities. Additionally, you can also drive and view the Redwoods up close in a much nicer way. The Founder's Grove and Rockefeller Loop are a must. I wish I allowed more time for this instead of Redwood National Park.

Don't bother with the Klamath Costal Drive Loop or the Newton B Drury Scenic Parkway, Golden Bluff/Fern Canyon. They were all very boring and way overrated.
Far better and should not be missed is the the Avenue of the Redwood from Peppered (exit 674) to Pillipsville (exit 645).
This drive is definitely as 'must do' and should not be missed. It really is the best view and experience of the splendid Redwoods.
Don't bother with the tacky bits such as the 'drive through' trees and 'The Log House'.
Take a few moments and walk a 'trail'. There are plenty, with some being just a simple stroll in the woods. Do not be put off thinking there only for hikers.
