“Poor customer service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2011

If you expect good, respectable customer service do not visit Drumadoon because you will not find it here. If they remember to come and take your order do not expect service with a smile. The front of house staff were even annoyed to be asked to take your drink order which showed when they gave you less then half a glass full.
As this was our first time visiting Drumadoon, within a few minutes we were seriously regretting our choice to stop.
The only saving grace for the trip was the food which was relatively decent. My advice to the chef would be to either find a different restaurant or find a diffferent front of house managment, but then what customer service can you expect when you have an owner/manager who respond with rude sarcastic comments to customers when they have had a bad experience. Clearly a owner who does not value the customer or want to improve the service. We should have checked trip advisor before visiting. The owners comments alone would have prevented us wasting our money on the establishment.

This establishment has a van parked outside the entrance with the slogan "Great Food, Great Value" Sorry Folks 'good value' it ain't . 3 course Sunday lunch £16- don't want starter or dessert, that will be £14 (for the likes of chicken fillet ?) Beefburger £8.95 -side order, that is extra ! The prices are far too high for ok-ish food. If you visit , take a look at the floor material - someone does not know the difference between interior and exterior !
There is better value to be had almost anywhere else.

Thank you for your comments. Can I recommend Mc Donalds or KFC in Coleraine or Ballymena if you are looking for 'Cheap Food ' on a budget in the north coast area in future.

Came across this hotel/restaurant about four months ago, on our way back home from Cushendun. It was mothering Sunday, and at the time we arrived there were still quite a number around. We had a most enjoyable meal, the best both of us had tasted for a long time. This place is a hidden gem, and you could easily drive past and really not see the hotel, even though it is quite impressive.

We have been back twice since that, and can honestly say that we received excellent food on all these occasions, congratulations to the chef - you will definitely not come away hungry. The food is very well presented, and the interior of the hotel is very welcoming, as are all the staff we met.
Continued success to the hotel management and their staff.

Room Tip: Have not stayed at the hotel, as we are not more than 40 miles from home - I gather it would also ha...

We got married in Drumadoon House on New Year's Eve.From the very first enquiery to the day its self Nigel and his staff could not have been more helpful.Every thing was so well organised from the room for the ceremony to the meal. The meal was delicious and served very quickly. We also had the use of a beautifully furnished sitting room with a log burning open fire and leather sofa's for the whole day and evening.Although we did'nt stay overnight we spoke to a few guest's who said they were very pleased with the accomadation.

My wife and I stayed here for one night after attending a wedding at the nearby Lissanoure Castle.
Unlike one review below, we found the staff extremely friendly and welcoming.
The highlight of the stay was the breakfast the next morning. You get a wonderful choice from their breakfast menu. All the ingredients were of a high quality and cooked perfectly.
The rooms were quite large, very clean and well maintained.
Bathrooms and showers were of a high standard (My only small gripe was that our shower had a shower curtain.....I hate shower curtains!!).
The entire establishment was so quaint and well maintained. Its a real treat to stay somewhere like this.

Overall, I would highly recommend Drumadoon. I've stayed in much worse 3 or 4 star hotels!!!

Thanks to the staff and owners for a great stay!!

This wonderful Hotel and Restaurant is quite a find. We stayed in the four poster bedroom, which is very tastefully and elegantly furnished :) Our full Irish Breakfast was second to none :) sets you up for the day. My favourite dish on the menu is Cayenne Chicken with Tobacco Onions and a sweet chilli cream sauce, with a side order of wedges...yummmy.
The staff are helpful and will go that extra mile for their guests. The venue is also used for small weddings I believe, as I have seen the photos displayed there.
They do serve afternoon tea too, so worth a stop for that ! I would def recommend this homely Hotel to my friends and hope to return to it again :)
