“A perfect bed and breakfast near the Fishbourne Roman Palace.”
Reviewed August 29, 2011

Nik is a great host and he shows it the moment you arrive.
The room was big and comfortable.
Breakfast was impressive with real chanterelles and very good pastry.
Nik amused breakfast with wonderful local anecdotes. We are looking forward to join one of his mushroom picking weekends in autumn.
Friendly bed & breakfast. A perfect stay to visit the estuary, Chichester and the magnificent mosaics at Fishbourne roman palace.

This really did tick all the boxes. We had the large ground floor room, a super comfy kingsize bed, relaxing modern style of decor, two settees (one converted to a bed) and a large TV. Very spacious, as was the bathroom (huge shower).
Nic was an excellent host, friendly and informative. His breakfasts were beautifully prepared, an amazing fresh fruit salad, beautifully cooked cooked breakfast, ever changing basket of toast, tea bread, croissants, crumpets etc, plus the usual choice of cereals, if required.
Nic provided everything you may need in the room, we particularly liked the constant supply of fresh milk kept in a fridge just outside the door. Wine and mineral water were always available on trust, to be paid for on departure.
We will definitely be back if in the Chichester area again. A good centre for exploring West Sussex.

On a recent return visit, owner Nik greeted us with his easy friendly charm, making us immediately at home - and we hadn't even seen the room yet!
This was a room we hadn't stayed in before and was both large (having a sitting area) but comfortable and beautifully clean, with all the right 'little touches' to makes one stay even more pleasant.
Breakfast on both mornings was delicious, from the daily changing yoghurt with different flavours to the fresh fruit salad. This is followed by the cooked offering, which I chose local wild mushrooms, bacon and scrambled eggs. Nik (knowing how I love my food), added black pudding and tomato! A real great way to start a day.
Staying here is always a pleasure and this time it was even better  we will be back!

I thought id book here as i needed to be close to Goodwood motor circuit. It is very close to there which was very useful. I am truly glad i booked this accommodation. The room was lovely, we had the ground floor suite. The bed was huge and comfortable (maybe a thinner quilt would be best for the summer, BUT that’s my only down point!!) The breakfast in the little hut outside was very pleasant. Fruit to start and a cooked breakfast with perfectly cooked scrambled egg. I would definitely come back!

A party of six of us stayed here while walking the South Downs way. We could not have been made more welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for Nik Westacott. He organised sandwiches for us and even a place for us to leave the car for several days. The rooms are clean, well decorated and comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. The suite would be ideal for a longer stay. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of fresh fruit and well-cooked full English breakfast. The house is on the main road which might put some people off but the cars did not disturb us.

Room Tip: The downstairs suite is the most spacious room.
