“Take a break for some fun and great food”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

You might be tempted to drive right on by this funky little place with the big BBQ Cafe sign on Highway 79 thinking that it looks a bit more like a junk yard than a restaurant. But take a break from your North Mountain Wine Trail tasting trip and you will be amply rewarded with unique, freshly-prepared food. The brats are memorably delicious. Jacqu is the opinionated chef, while his partner Debbie provides the light-hearted touch of casual, good service. Even though the outside looks a bit shabby, inside is bright and spotlessly clean. Relax and have fun!

“It's a hoot!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

No chicken for you, no ketchup for you! We went with six friends that live down the road from this place and frequent it often. So we were warned. The menu is fun and the 'brats' are the most popular menu item. We tried the bison brats but found them kinda boring. Enjoyed the Cesar salad and drooled over the angus burger that my partner was eating. It is the kind of place that makes eating fun. Everything is bbq'd outside and I can't wait to return and try other menu items.

“Delicious BBQ”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

Stopped by here on the way back from the glider port out at Warner Springs and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I had the ribs which were fantastic and falling off the bone and my hubby had the elk burger and he thought it was the best thing he'd ever eaten. Great service and nice atmosphere considering it's right on the highway. Will definitely stop again when I'm going that way.

“A New Found Gem !”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Having decided we needed a cold drink and some dinner at the end of a long workday; we were happy to see a sign on the side of the road advertising the County Line BBQ Cafe. As a couple who travel constantly on business; we always prefer to choose a locally owned restaurant and stay away from the big food "chains". This decision gave us one of the best experiences we have had in quite a while.
Enjoying a cold drink and appetizer gave us plenty of time to marvel over the unique menu and try to decide which new taste sensation we would order. As the other reviews mentioned.....this is NOT your common burger and fries BBQ joint !! We ordered an Elk and a Bison Burger on the fantastic Cheddar Jalapeno buns with sides of the rosemary potatoes..... the sauce perfectly complemented the flavourful medium-rare meat and we enjoyed the meal immensely. After eating; we enjoyed another glass of local wine and told the owners to let us know when they were ready to close up since we were the last customers; instead, they joined us and we spent a few more hours swapping life stories, talking world politics and drinking wine ! Finding out that Jacqu had trained with famous french chefs in his youth explained much about the care and pride he takes in preparing his menu. Both he and his wife, Debbie are kind and generous hosts who run this cafe as a labour of love and it shows.
