“Excellent for Steaks”

We always go to their '5-6-7' in the bar (selected drinks and selected small plates for $6 between 5pm & 7pm) - more often than the Restaurant for a full meal.We get their 'gift-cards' at Costco and pay $80.00 for $100.00 worth of food especially since their food, wine & drinks are on the expensive side !! Service in both the dining and bar area are super great.

“It's all good, er, great!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

My first trip to Flemings was an out-of-the-park home run. From the initial greeting we were well-received and led to our table, where we proceeded to enjoy reviewing the menu and wine list (which is quite good; we did not ask for a sommelier, but rather made our own selections). The food was excellent and cooked exactly as ordered. The staff was knowledgeable and very attentive and the manager came by twice to ensure we were enjoying our meal. There are a couple of reviews that mention poor service, so perhaps they are working on that, but we were also there before the "dinner crunch" on a Sunday. We were celebrating a birthday and when they found that out they comped our dessert, which was a nice touch.
The portions were more than ample; both my date and I ended up with enough leftovers for another meal, and I was really looking forward to enjoying more of my NY Strip!
The only negative of the evening was the trouble with parking; we ended up being a bit late for our reservation because of that, but it's downtown Walnut Creek, where parking is often at a premium, and that's not Fleming's fault.
We are both looking forward to our next dining experience at Flemings.

“Underwealming”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

We were looking forward to this given the reviews. Unfortunately the place is not up to our standards. Located in a parking garage with no windows, the place is a large rectangle. Menus were rather cheap folios with 'tabs' similar to what one might find a Denny's. Gummy textured bread was 'seasoned' with metallic tasting garlic and onion powder (& msg?) as was the butter. Wine glasses were cheap and not polished (even after ordering a $120 bottle of red, they used the same glasses). ahi tuna appetizer was unevenly cut but good as was the new england clam chowder (a roux version rather that a cream one). my filet was perfectly trimmed, seasoned, and cooked, however, my guest's was overcooked to the point of being dry and was bland. The french fries and onion rings were cold and limp (obviously they were cooked earlier and placed under a heat lamp.) The asparagus was just ok. At $250 for two, and with so many other good choices, we wont be returning.

“Service needs to improve to match the food”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Went with the family on Friday to this place - have been here a couple of times and the food is always great - the steaks are great in quality as well as prepared to order. Always love the ample sides and appetizers. Highly recommend the place, but beware of slow service - while seemed like they had enough people for servers but the kitchen was slow as hell. Kept coming and telling us it will be there soon but went well over the decency period of waiting.

Oh ya one other thing was looking forward to the lava cake and ordered in the middle of dinner since my seven year old loves it, but when it came the lava was missing ( had dried up) - it was still good but no lava cake just a hot brownie.

Better improve service or the those hordes of waiting lines will soon be gone
