We ordered and sat and sat. The salad was pitiful. Hardly any Caesar dressing. The main course arrived, but it was someone else's main course. Then we sat some more. I will never go back.

Saturday night 7 PM wanted a steakhouse dinner. Flemings was 2 hour wait with no room at the bar. Went to Vic Stewart's and got in immediately. Staff was friendly and attentive but not pushy. Wine list was good with nice selection of Cabs. Several in the $50-80 range with many going higher. Menu was typical steakhouse fare. Excellent range of vegetable sides. Salads were nicely prepared and very tasty. Creamed Spinach was perfect balance between lots of spinach and some very good cream sauce. Filet was very lean and covered with demi-glace. Then my steak - a bone-in New York. Heavily spice rubbed, it could have been anything under there. The steak butter was heavily flavored. Steak had a lot of gristle. What a disappointment. 2 out of 10 for the main attraction.

Consistent, great service, always a treat. Filet, mashed potatoes just wonderful. Go ahead and get the larger filet- leftovers will be enjoyed. In my opinion, the best steak house in Walnut Creek. Easy onsite parking too.

We resereved a table in one of the private compartments in this restaurant built with one-time rail cars. Just about everything was perfect from the coconut shrimp appetizers, the (huge) spinach/bacon salad, the (equally huge) entrees (filet mignon for my wife, filet mignon & tiger shrimp skewers for me), the desserts and they even gave us an extra dish of chocolate mousse for our anniversary. The service was superb, not at all rushed but always at the right time. A bit pricey, yes, but great for a special occasion splurge.

Rib eye was fantastic and the ladys filet was good as well. Disappointed by the lobster bisque though, it was a tad fishy. The pecan pie dessert was amazing with a scoop of pecan praliene ice cream ontop of a warm slice of pecan pie.

The server came to grab our food to box it up and while in the kitchen dropped our food on the floor. He was kind enough to have our meals remade so we took home full meals for leftovers.

Decent prices and good ambiance. Will be back.
