“Beautiful building. Great performance!”
Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

Went to see the last performance of A Christmas Carol with several family members right before Christmas. It was a wonderful performance. We also visited the art gallery next door after the play. That was also nice and was included as part of our theater tickets. If I lived near Walnut Creek, I would attend many performances here. It is a warm and cozy atmosphere. Loved it!

“Great Venue”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Been to several symphonies and plays - all exceeding expectations for the price. All seats are good with easy access, and the aisles are wider than you'd expect for older theaters. There is the big main theater, seating maybe 1000, and then there is a least one smaller one that seats maybe 150. They sell drinks during intermission, but I'd avoid buying one unless you like to guzzle because you cannot take it into the theater. As others have pointed out, the parking situation is good - attached garage with reasonable rates. Lots of dining options within a few blocks.

“local theater”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

I have been attending plays at the Lesher for over 30 years and each year the performances improve. Today they are outstanding....We are so lucky to have such a theater in our hometown. Much better, cleaner, and more user friendly than going to San Francisco's cramped theaters with their horrible bathrooms.

“A Gem of a Theater”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

I never paid any attention tot his place until I moved to Walnut Creek. WOW. There are 3 intimate theaters at the Lesher along with the Bedford Gallery. There is a large parking garage next door that is VERY reasonable and of course lots of restaurants at all price points in downtown WC. A bar is set-up in the gallery area for shows and you can have alcoholic and non for am average price (way better than SF) and there is usually ice cream for sale at the interval as well. Many theater organizations rent one of the theaters for their productions and the Lesher also hosts very well known entertainers and speakers. While many people say there is no culture not his side of the Caldecott Tunnel - they have not done their homework. We saw 'Ella - the musical' there recently. It would have held its own with many shows on B'way.

“Beautiful Theater”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

The show we saw was "Shrek" starring a good friend of ours. The theater was lovely and the actors/singers/dancers in the show were first class.
