They made sure you were safe and didn't make you feel uncomfortable at all if you didn't know what you were doing. They kept everything basic and the guides were always friendly. One of our friends brought the wrong shoes (sandals), and would have probably not been able to go back to camp and return in time before the bus left, but one of the guides from AO had extra pair of shoes to loan him for the rafting trip. This allowed him to go instead of missing out. Super nice guides and they also bring lunch for the entire group and it's good too. They are great teachers as well, which I think is great for those who want to continue white water rafting and learning all the nuisances of rafting. The river we rafted on was the Merced river and we did it on Memorial Weekend. They do have a dry bag to hold onto things you want to keep dry and they will also hold your car keys for you while you are rafting. Good times.

We took the 2 day Middle Fork American River and had an unforgetable experience. In addition to rafting we got to kayak in some class II-III rapids. A must experience. The water is cold, but the fun and scenery are amazing. We were well prepared for camping under the stars thanks to the staff suggestions ahead of time and we were treated like royality on our overnite. The second day was as much fun as the first and both days hiking experiences were challenging but worth the adventure. Thanks so much to our guide Chris for a highlight to our USF/UN tailgate adventure!

My husband and I had an amazing time on the 2-day Tuolumne trip. It was out first time rafting, but we felt like we were in good hands and up for the challenge. We are adrenaline junkies in decent shape/good swimmers. On this particular trip in August, the river was pretty low because one of the turbines on the dam was malfunctioning-- but that didn't keep us from having a blast.

We really liked our guide Ryan (Horse), who is super chill and incredibly knowledgeable about plants, animals, and the history of the river. But all the guides were helpful and clearly really, I mean really, enjoy their jobs. They all had very different personalities, which made for an awesome team.

Loved that we had time to do some exploring around camp on our own. It is really more beautiful than you think it will be. The food was incredible, too. As a vegetarian, I was initially concerned there might not be enough choices, but that was not nearly the case. Oh, and the coffee was especially good.

After a full day of rafting, a well-earned feast, and a good night's sleep, there is nothing that can compare to awaking to the sound of the river.

This was one of the best experiences we have had in many years. We were new to rafting and did the South Fork on a Tuesday and followed up with the Middle Fork on Thursday. South Fork was a good place to learn, particularly if you are travelling with kids. The Middle Fork was great right from the start. The first rapid is called "cold cup of coffee". You'll figure out why pretty quick. Our guide Chris was great; he made sure we were safe but allowed us to have fun. The tunnel chute was awesome. So many class IV rapids on this river. I would recommend for adventurous individuals or families who want to do something different. I believe the minimum age for Middle Fork is 12 and for good reason. The scenery was spectacular and its hard to beleive there are places like this still in California.

I highly recommend All Outdoors - we've been on a couple of trips with them - the Merced and Tuolomne were both amazing and I can't say enough good things about their guides and the overall trip. We took teens with us and they had a great time too. Can't really go wrong with this company - most of the people with us had done more than one trip with them, so that's a good sign too.....
