Suffered our 5th experience at this venue which has to be the worst I've ever attended. Apart from the industrial wasteland surroundings, they make parking more painful than necessary by sending early arrivals straight to the top levels. Which will then take the best part of an hour to exit behind the other 1000-odd cars on lower levels whether you've pre-booked or not.
We arrived early specifically to avoid this only to find the usual "This Level Full" sign on the 1st level. In fact it was near fully empty - don't believe the signs! We drove around the sign & parked near the other 20 cars that'd done the same.
The "food" on offer inside the venue can only be described as disgusting with minimal seating. The comparison with cardboard in the previous review is actually pretty kind. About 50% of the people eating were sitting on the floor due to lack of adequate seating. This completed the already ghetto feel created by the rubbish food. Edible food is only available a 20 min walk away with no cover, which wasn't feasible in the rain showers on the night we were there. So the whole place kills the concept of a good easy night out apart from the show itself.
By comparison the Sydney Entertainment Centre offers several parking options & plenty of good food choices at Market City or Chinatown all within a 5 min mostly covered walk. The ~15 shows we've been to were always good nights out.
Other venues we've been to like Rogers Centre in Toronto is of similar size to Allphones but with plenty of transport and eating options. Ditto Madison Sq Garden NYC which although old, doesn't treat the patrons with contempt as Acer/Allphones does. Allphones management really need to clean up their act, but with the impending temporary closure of the Ent Cent next year will have a monopoly on covered venues in Sydney.
We'll be mourning the closure of the Ent Cent next year which will mean we're stuck only with the painful AllPhones. Looks like we'll have to go interstate to see the good shows under decent conditions.

Venue is too large. When you are seated past a certain point the sound quality is poor. Seats are very steep. There are much better places to see a band than here.
You cannot bring in your own food or drink (even water!!) which is fair enough, but people need to be told about this in ADVANCE when you buy tickets. At the last concert I was at, people were forced to throw out full bottles of water (or drink the lot on the spot) as they entered the buildings as they weren't allowed to bring it in!! What a waste of clean water, so disgraceful! Such a show of greed from a big company! And it could have been alleviated by TELLING PEOPLE IN ADVANCE that they can't bring anything in.
Food and drinks on offer are sub-standard and grossly inflated, eat before you go.
Toilet facilities are pretty good as far as concert venues go, they were as clean as could be expected given how many people were there.
Also it's quite a long walk from Olympic Park station, feels further than it looks on a map. Those with low mobility better off parking (and paying an arm and a leg) or get a taxi

My husband and I watched Celtic Thunder perform at the Allphones Arena. We had bought platinum tickets but I was disappointed with our seats. Whilst we were close to the stage - on Row 11 - we had to look up because the seats were quite a lot lower than the stage and were not tiered. To my disappointment, my view was partially blocked because the people in front of me were a lot taller than me.
We had taken two trains to get to Sydney Olympic Park from Circular Quay. When we arrived, we could not see any signs that pointed to the Allphones Arena. We managed to find the restaurant I had booked to have dinner before the show - Piccolo Roma - and had to ask someone there for directions to the Allphones Arena.
I highly recommend a meal at Piccolo Roma restaurant, which is a ten-minute walk from the Allphones Arena.

I'm here for the Roger Waters concert, up from Melbourne so don't know the area and headed to venue trusting there would be food of some description, I had low expectations. The food fell far short of those low expectations. Seriously, the venue is in great condition, well planned and built with lots of room for facilities - how hard can it be to make some reasonable take away food? The fish had the texture of a deep fried thong and the chips the taste and texture of cardboard. Its true I've never eaten cardboard, but I do remember chewing on thongs as a kid. So I tried some of the box the fish and chips came in, and yes it was remarkably similiar.
To offer such awful fare to people paying serious money for tickets is inexcusable these days.
Cheerio chums.
