We went to Mimi's for dinner at another couple's suggestion. I have never been a fan of Mimi's, but we agreed to go. As is always true at any Mimi's, the decor is fabulous. And the menu is also exceptional. The dishes look amazing on the menu, and are well described, making my taste buds crave the dish. The service was also exceptional -- no complaints thus far. But then the food arrived. The food at Mimi's just doesn't quite match the rest of the experience. It is OK, but NOTHING special. The flavors are mediocre. I wonder if some of the food is preprepared in a central kitchen and shipped to the individual Mimi's locations. It's kind of like eating high quality leftovers at home; the taste is OK, but not nearly as good as when it was freshly prepared. None of the four meals we ordered measured up -- all of us decided to not patronize Mimi's in the future.
