Visalia's Fox Theater is now a community performance venue. It was built for movies and stage performances in the early 20th century and provided a Moorish fantasy garden.
We were there for a BB King concert. We had a great time. It seems some A list performers book into the Fox for mid week performances as they travel between the larger cities. Local and regional acts also perform there. If you are going to be in the area check their website or the local paper.
The Fox is on Visalia's lively Main Street, There are many good restaurants within a short walk.
Go for the 1930's feeling and the interesting mix of performances. However be prepared for the possibility of a lack luster sound system and seating that can be a bit tight.
It is worth a visit.
