This was our first visit to Harrahs Rincon. 40-50 yr old couple. As a High Diamond player I find that I am treated better at some of the smaller venues Harrahs/Caesars has to offer. In this case (with no prior play here) I was comped five nights in a corner suite on the 4th (top) floor of the original garden tower facing the parking lot and old valet entrance. Although we did not have a view of the pool which is closed during construction, we did have a beautiful view of the Mountains and two sets of sliding glass doors that could be opened for fresh air. This is also the quietest area to be in during construction. Noise was never an issue. The hotel and casino are appointed with natural woods and earth tones which gives it a more mature feel and a little less circus like. Casino is quieter than most, music and slots sound is kept at bearable levels. A nice change from vegas, reno, ac etc. The suite had two large flat screen tv's, one of which did not work and was comming off the wall mount. This took one call to maintenance and the tv and mount were replaced that day. The bed was OK but not premium. The room was clean and the housekeeping was excellent. (we tip). A little goes a long way in that dept. Extra coffee, chocolates on pillow etc. The living room, bedroom, bath and closet were huge however the room lacked even a small dining table to eat at, which really defeats the purpose of a large room where you can enjoy room service. Having to utilize your room key to exit casino to garden tower elevators and then again in the elevator to access your floor is an excellent security feature. Slot attendants helpfull hints to play max on dollar machine aided in $3200 jackpot. Also hit $1200 on $5 machine. Had good play. Lost more than won (always) but not cleaned out. Host Picked up food and Travel expense and I was treated like a valued player by every employee I came in contact with in 5 days. Weekend buffet brunch was Very Very good. Traveled to San Diego (50 min) every day to explore SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Sunset Cliffs Park, Coronado, and Old Town. Not a bad ride at all. Very good roads. If you like Mexican food, "Fiesta De Reyes" in Old Town is a MUST. Using a GPS made travel effortless as navigation to Rincon can be tricky without. Safari Park is close by (20 min) and worth doing. Cant wait to return when construction is complete and pool is open.
