We were in town for a wedding, and stayed for 3 days/2 nights over the Labor day weekend. I called ahead to get a map of local wineries, and by the quick response, I should have known that this would be a great experience.

We were a little concerned because you are literally in the shadows of the Six Flags roller coasters, but since our rooms were facing opposite the park, there was no noise. The only hindrance from the proximity is that they check your room status when driving into the parking area, but nothing major.

The property is very clean, up to date, and very welcoming.

When you enter the lobby, you are immediately greeted by the front desk staff. A theme you will find throughout the staff. Everyone was smiling, even though they were fully booked for the weekend.

They have a restaurant onsite, which while not creative, or overly expensive, provides solid food. Pizza delivery available from the local vendors, a Carl's Jr. is within walking distance, and there are a few chain restaurants within 5 minutes drive time.

Wireless access is free throughout the property and there is a computer and printer in the lobby if you need to print out maps or boarding passes.

We had a couple of maintenance issues which were not quickly addressed, and when we brought them up to the manager, he quickly ensured that we were accommodated to our satisfaction, without any prompting. What Service!

You are within 30 minutes drive to many of the area wineries, so rather than pay a huge rate for some of the boutique hotels, this is a great alternative.

If you are looking for something close to Six Flags, this is the place.

Overall a good experience, made excellent by the staff.

Room Tip: To avoid the noise from the theme park, ask for a room facing opposite the noise.

This hotel has a great location just off I-80. If you plan to go to Six Flags a need a place to crash that's close the location is tough to beat since the park across the street. It is also reasonably priced and can be used to get with in an hour or less (if traffic is good) to San Francisco, Napa or Sacramento. The hotel was reasonably clean.

Now the bad...no breakfast included (a 10.95 buffet - honestly a lot for a bowl of cereal). However, the exhaust fan in the bathroom stays on all night with no way to shut it off. The fan in my room was loud and vibrated the wall between the bathroom and room (which the bed is smacked up against). The pillows were too thick. And the beds face toward the window so you get light in your eyes.

Bottom line...I've stayed at worse and stayed at better.

We were suddenly looking for a room at 9 pm when we decided after a long day of unpacking boxes not to try and sleep in our new apartment. On a weekday evening during summer vacation, it was nearly impossible to find a room in Berkeley that wasn't $300-400 for a night. We were thrilled to drive a little further and save a lot of money. This hotel offers the standard Courtyard experience, clean and comfortable. The staff really shone in their efforts to provide a pleasant experience for all the guests. We have stayed here previously while touring the Napa Valley and it is a great choice.

Room Tip: I always ask for a higher floor away from the elevator.

This Courtyard is very nice, but I won't come here again unless it is a very special price. The room was clean but not as spacious as suites in other Marriott hotels. There was road noise audible in the room. I used a sound machine to mask it.

They said breakfast was at 6 AM when I checked in. A surprise since they did not list free breakfast on the Marriott site. But when I went down there, I found it was an extra charge. And their breakfasts are ok but nothing special. The same breakfast as the breakfast that is included at every Fairfield Inn. So that means an extra stop for breakfast somewhere else. Yielding to being gauged for breakfast is not going to happen.

They put a bottle of water in the room...with a sign that it costs $2.50. A bottle of water is given to you at many hotels. Really? I find that to be tacky.

When a hotel tries to nickel and dime the customer for items that are included at other hotels, I snap my pocketbook closed and take my business elsewhere.

This hotel is right across from Six Flags, so for vacationers who are expecting everyone to have a hand in their pocket anyway, this could still be a hotel worth booking. But as a business traveler, I feel disrespected by these add on costs.

Very good--the front desk staff, who got us to the ferry in the nick of time and then found us a very good restaurant at 8:45 PM on a week night.
Good--the hotel's appearance which was both modernistic and tasteful.
Peculiar--the "complementary" bottled water for which we would have been charged $2.50 had we opened it.
