“J's Is Great Chinese in Glen Cove”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

We're new to Vallejo and found J's Garden to be a delight. It's not much from the outside, and the décor isn't anything to write home about. But it's clean - something often questionable in Chinese restaurants in our experience - it's close by, the food is fresh and hot and the service is friendly. What can we say? For us, it's our new go-to place for Chinese in Vallejo. And we say this after years of going to Chinese in a few places over in Benicia, where we both used to work.

I'm not sure why I saw some of the bad reviews here. Our couple of visits have been the polar opposites of the negatives we've read here.

And, take out Chinese? I equate that with cheap Chinese, something like Panda Express. Good Chinese is best enjoyed hot and fresh with green tea to wash it down with. You can keep the leftovers for "take out" which is why we usually order four times as much as we will eat. Bur, reheated leftover Chinese is never as good as when it's fresh off the wok from the kitchen. If you found it to be soggy or greasy and you got take out, don't blame the cook!
