I stayed at this beautiful lodge during my stay in Lake County for a spring break trip. The facility provided was a perfect location. There was space for team building and conversing, and a comfortable and clean room for the much needed rest after our long days of service. The staff created a great and welcoming atmosphere which will never be forgotten. They will be a part of our memories forever!

I cannot say enough about the staff. Thank you for showing us an immense amount of kindness, hospitality and care. My team and I had such an incredible stay. We feel that the words "thank you" are not strong enough to express our appreciation. From the hot, fresh breakfasts in the mornings to the immense amount of accommodations and bending over backwards for our team, there truly are no words to describe our satisfaction and appreciation. They accommodated our crazy schedule and eating times and provided us with unforgettable and magical kayak rides even though we only had availability at six in the morning. The team at The Lodge at Blue Lakes made everything exceptional. Because of your excellence, we had the BEST experience possible!

We will definitely be staying here again! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this resort!

Room Tip: I had a couples room all to myself and it was beautiful! All rooms are right off the lake so you can...

My wife and I have been coming to the Blue Lakes Lodge for over 40 years and have always had a great time in the area but particular we enjoy the fishing at the resort and on the lake. In the early years there was a massive turnover of management and the lodge deteriorated as little effort was made to upgrade the rooms. We missed about four years for that reason but about four or five years ago we decided to take another trip to Blue Lakes and booked another room.
Wow, were we surprised! The new owners, Peter and Maryann, had completed updated the lodge with a complete makeover and every room was renovated from the floor to the ceiling and the cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable. This has continued each year under their ownership and upgrades to the premises continue with additions of catering to whatever type of party books an event to the addition of electric water boats for cruising Blue Lake. Barbeque areas complete with gas grills picnic tables and onsite restroom facilities for day users, the Schmidts have made the Blue Lakes Lodge a wonderful place to stay. The swimming pool is always a great place to congregate and restaurants are within a few miles for those that decide to dine out. The Blue Wings restaurant in old town Upper Lake (about 5 miles) is an excellent dining experience and there are two Indian casinos within a ten minute drive from the lodge.
Overall, we will keep coming back to the Blue Lakes Lodge. They are friendly, attend to our needs, and work to accommodate our schedule. I would highly recommend anyone staying in the Blue Lake area to give the Blue Lakes Lodge a try. I am sure you will keep coming back!

Room Tip: Stay in the rooms with kitchenettes. They are away from most foot traffic and thus quieter.

I have been here 4 times now in less than 3 years. We love this place! Pool, lakes, 4 bbq's to choose from, free breakfast. Clean beautiful water & view. It a good 6 hour drive for us, but we keep coming back. No fast crazy boats all over the lake. You can rent kayaks, or slow electric yacht boats. You can swim almost anywhere and there are rope swigs along the sides of this lake.

Room Tip: If your staying a few night, get the kitchenette.

This hotel was so perfect for our vacation. Rooms are clean and very chic. It was indeed beyond our expectation. Jacquie as an ambassadress for this place is an understatement...for surprisingly she is also the Morning Chef and an artist when it comes to eggs. We saw so many kinds and flavors that all guests were gushing about it. Best continental breakfast we've encountered. Oh, the Muesli ...the Lodge's signature cereal are being raved about by the Belgian guests that were there.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with the waterfront side. Love the rooms with the waterfall jacuzzis.

Blue lake is a lovely spring fed lake that is deliciously cool, even in the hottest weather (and it does get hot in the summer in this area). The lodge is one of a few accommodations surrounding the lake, and probably the nicest, although it is still a small, out-of-the-way lodge, so don't expect gourmet dining or luxurious rooms. The staff and lodge have a reputation for cleanliness and friendliness.

My concern is with the cancellation policy. They have a policy that if you are coming for a weekend, or even find a single evening available, you must cancel with 14 days notice or forfeit your entire room cost which they take up front on your credit card. This is a shock in today's world where a cancellation notice of 24 hours is more common, and even 4 hours is acceptable at many places with a full refund. Fourteen days is a long lead time for a single night: illness, cancelled event, family emergency, car trouble, many things can necessitate a cancellation. Scary.

We took our family for a vacation in the Clear Lake area over the summer and stayed at the Lodge at Blue Lakes. It was one of the best vacations we have had. The lodge is unlike any other hotel you will find in that area of Lake County. We have seen other places and nothing compares. It is clean and very well taken care of. It was nothing like your typical hotel stay. They have outside grills, patios that everyone can use, and a boat dock. Their staff is super friendly and treat you like family. We stayed there almost two weeks and by the time we left, we did in fact feel like family.

The lodge sits right on the Blue Lakes. It is beautiful and one of the most peaceful getaways you will find. Continental breakfast is prepared every morning, but "continental" is an understatement. Their breakfasts are amazing and you get to dine with a breathtaking view of the Lake every morning.

They have cable and wifi which is great. Parking is unbelievable and the location is close enough to small towns in the area but tucked away enough to make you feel like you are at a resort destination.

If you are in Northern California, or just want to get away for a bit, you must check out this place. It is amazing! You won't be sorry.

Room Tip: Ask for room on the Lake side.

Suzette and her family maintain this picturesque spot on the lake immaculately. They greeted us with local wine and were extremely pleasant. Free one hour Kayak on the clean, clear lake. We stayed only one night but had we known it would be so pleasant we might have made arrangements to stay AN EXTRA DAY.

Room Tip: Face the lake, not the road.
