“Yummy and messy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

French dip, BBQ beef, Pastrami, and much more. Always great to get your fill of the food they have to offer. If you don't like crowds, maybe try the other location a few miles away.
Busy place. Food can get messy. Not cheap.

“World famous for a very good reason”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

I have been going to The Hat for a few years. I used to pass by and wonder why they say their pastrami is world famous. I tried it and now I'm hooked.

Pastrami is thin slices and ruffled a bit so there is air between the slices. I think that is the key. So tasty...perfect texture, flavor, fat to meat ratio...everything!

I am always tempted to order the large fries...but then remember a small fries is enough for 2 or 3 normal people. I usually order a large fries in other places...but stick to the small fries here.

Not on the menu but i saw someone order chili cheese fries with pastrami on it. Need to try that someday...

I'm glad I don't live close to The Hat or I would want to eat there too often! I know someone that was in the hospital after heart surgery and was craving a pastrami sandwich from The Hat so much he had his mom get one for him...it is that addicting!

“Gotta have it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

If you like pastrami then this is the place! There should be a warning though for us average eaters. there should be a warning to have someone to share either the onion rings or french fries with. You just can not eat a sandwich and a whole order of fries or onion rings. Actually splitting a sandwich and fries between two is about right.
