“Great Motel”
Reviewed July 19, 2009

Very nice Super 8! I've stayed at many Super 8's and this is the best one by far. Clean rooms, nice pool, nearby restaurant, and right off the freeway. I would recommend this motel to anyone.

Just finished driving in all 48 states. Stayed in many motels. The motel in Ukiah was the best motel on the whole trip. It was everything one could ask for. Clean, beautiful decorated rooms, lovely people in charge, concerned about the traveler and the price was right. Eating establishment only 50 feet across the path.

Best priced motel in a lovely area for wine tasting. Best rooms on second floor (if you're facing the parking lot) or in the back building on the pool side. Great mattress. Less than 1 mile from downtown.

Reasonably priced and very clean accomodations in the upper wine country. We asked for a quiet room and received exactly that. Friendly and cheerful staff take care of details, we will return again.

After reading reviews for this place, I decided we would stop here for the night on our way down to Los Angeles.

It's right off the freeway which was nice. The building looks like it might have been renovated recently but is a weird mustard yellow and orange/red color. I walked in to the office and I must have caught the family who runs this hotel at dinner time. It had a strong smell of curry or something, which was fine as long as my room didn't smell that way. The woman behind the counter was carrying a small child and seemed to be in a big hurry. She was nice though, and after taking a quick look at the room before taking it, I went ahead and paid for it.

The room itself is a nice size. We settled into our room and after further inspection, found a thick layer of dust on top of the T.V. cabinet. The room had a slight smell of that infamous "motel smell". Every time we laid on the bed, or moved around on it, one of the lamps would flicker on and off. I discovered that the power outlet supplying power to the lamp was right behind the bed and moving the cord around. It's got a hairdryer and iron, among the usual shampoo and small soap. It also has in room coffee, but nothing special. The bathroom is tiny, and very dark. It's got a decent shower with plenty of water pressure. Behind the toilet they had a plastic box type of thing that was covering a pipe that was outside of the wall, we thought that was a bit odd. When going to bed, we noticed a blood stain on one of the pillows which kind of grossed us out. There is a restaurant next door called the "Henny Penny" or something like that. We had a menu in the room which said they closed at 10 pm. I went in to get some dinner at around 9 pm, and turned me away saying the "kitchen was closed". Their breakfast is your typical "breakfast" at these places. They were out of orange juice.

Overall, I'd have to say I was very disappointed. Reading reviews here made it seem like this place was perfect, but it was far from it. For the price (around $80+tax) I kind of expected a lot more. I hope this review helps someone out.

P.S. They DO accept pets for a $10 fee.

While on the road on our long trip home, we realized we needed to stop and stay the night in Ukiah, CA. After calling a couple of different hotels for prices, we realized that we were getting honesty from the mananger at the Super 8 Motel. We were a little weary about staying there because we'd been in hotels for the last 8 nights, but once we got there and saw how nice and clean everything was, we started to relax. The manager behind the desk was refreshing and proud of all the work he had put into this motel, which really showed! Our room was probably the cleanest room any of us had ever stayed in! Immacculate! I even felt comfortable having my 9 year old on the floor! Breakfast was simple, yet plenty of choices, from waffles to cereal.
The pool was not heated and since is was early April we didn't dare try it, but the hot tub was so nice and relaxing! And the security was great.
We highly recommed this hotel!
