“Charming and authentic”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 for a stay in December 2012
person found this review helpful

Original family dwelling lovingly restored with period touches and modern amenities. Great kitchen. Surrounded by their old vines and steps away from their wine tasting room. Great old barn next door with antique car and blacksmith tools that you could tell were not for show but had real history behind them. Wonderful photo ops with rainbows over the vineyards and great vintage farm equipment.
We spent Christmas with 8 people and 2 dogs....max capacity for the house. Pretty chilly weather but the central heat worked very well. (The teen Zen-child slept on the screened porch under very "schmumfy" comforters).
1/2 hour from anywhere but we wanted to be away from it all. Wonderful redwood and sequoia groves to visit, cute little 1860's towns, definite return trip-worthy.
Criticisms....They could use better reading lights, very close to Highway 101. No problem with the windows closed in winter but might be a bit noisy in the summer with all the trucks cruising past.

Management Response

I am so glad you enjoyed your time at Testa!!

I hope you come back in the spring, summer or fall when you can enjoy the vines and trees in their glory with all of their beautiful leaves and crops.

To address the freeway, it is most noticeable in winter, when all the vines are dormant.

Thank you for spending your holiday at Testa!!
