“There must be a better place in Ukiah”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

I will look elsewhere next time I go through Ukiah. Although I was in a nonsmoking room, there was an ashtray right outside the door that had not been emptied and reeked of old cigarette butts, so that was the smell that greeted me every time I left or re-entered the room. There was garbage on the ground around the corner from my room. The location is extremely unappealing with noise from both the freeway and the frontage roads. Don't plan on taking a walk while you are there because you are in a rough-looking area and the traffic from the off ramps is intense.

The room was clean and well-maintained. No issues other than at one point we could hear people talking in the room next door, so the sound-proofing is rather thin.

Breakfast was ok. The French toast was kept warm, and the bacon was less than crispy, but there were a good number of options.

Interestingly, when we checked in the clerk told us that we had been given a room with two queen beds. Our reservation clearly said that we had been given a King bed, but he insisted several times that since our reservation had imported into his system as Two Queens, there was nothing he could do. He was polite, and it wasn't really an issue for us, but I found it incredibly odd that the person managing the front desk seemed to have no power to switch someone to another room, even when a mistake has been made. What if we had been assigned a smoking room in error? If this is truly policy, it's a foolish one.

Very reasonably priced. Room was an "access room" for wheelchair access. The shower seat was comfortable & a good size. Room was clean and comfortable. I would have liked a table in the room, but there was a desk with desk chair and a small stuffed chair. The room was a smoking room which I appreciated. I was travelling with my partner and sat outside to smoke after she went to bed. The clerk at the desk saw me there and came all the way to the room to make sure I was doing ok! Overall a positive stay. The decor and tv were a bit dated but otherwise fine. Oh, there was not a way to get closed captions on the tiv-- which would have been nice.

Overall was a very pleasant stay. Bathroom was clean, bed was confortable and clean.

Light bulb was out in light next to the bed. Wi-Fi was an unsecured connection and my laptop kept freezing up. Front desk staff could use more customer service training...except Adriana. She was very professional upon booking. :-)
