This museum and gallery is dedicated to Grace Hudson, who studied, befriended and painted the native Pomo Indians in the Ukiah valley a century ago. Her paintings of the children on display in the museum are remarkable and touching. This under-rated artist is probably not well known out of Mendocino County, but she should be. There is also a cute gift shop and the house in which Grace Hudson lived can also be toured. On the down side, the city of Ukiah has allowed homeless people to occupy a good portion of the Sun House Park. To understand why this is allowed you would have to try to get into the heads of the people who run the city, which could be painful. At any rate it is well worth a visit.
