“This place was GREAT!”
Reviewed April 1, 2010

The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. the rooms are large and clean, with an office area to take care of any work you bring. The rooms have free Wi-Fi Internet access. The TV has several channels to select from including HBO. The breakfast buffet is fresh and plentiful. There is a fitness room and a pool. Plenty of free parking and easy access to local freeways and shopping. A very comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Town & Country Lodge in Tulare, CA. All the accommodations were wonderful. We had pets and they were very welcomed. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had the continental breakfast, which was very weight watcher friendly. The staff was very efficient and friendly.

We stayed for 3 nights with our dog - in previous visits to Tulare we stayed at the Charter Inn and Suites but they did not have the room type we needed so chose the Best Western based on the reviews here. The Charter Inn has better rooms and breakfast. The room was very clean - but I asked for a room away from the road noise and was placed near one of the side entry doors and the ice machine. The guests in the hotel were very noisy walking down the halls at 11:30 and early in the mornings - any noise came right through the walls - we heard the neighbors' conversation until midnight one evening. Obviously the hotel cannot control noisy guests - it's just a reflection of the older building.
The rooms have been renovated but the bathrooms are extremely small - the sink is out in the room and does not have enough space to place all the traveling stuff you take along. Inside the bath area, it is so tight that you have to open or close the door before you sit on the toilet. In comparison, the bathroom space is very roomy at the Charter Inn. The lobby/ breakfast area is also nicer at the Charter - more open and attractive, more tables, and the breakfast buffet has more choices. The Charter offers an array of fresh fruit, not just a chopped mixture; they also offer more cereals, bacon not just sausages, and a great salsa for the eggs. They serve on glass plates and silverware, not plastic, which is nice. Charter's AAA rate was also $4 cheaper for that time period. Next time I'll reserve early for Charter.

My wife and I have stayed here at least 25 times as she has family in the area. We have two small dogs and we often must take them with us. The Best Western has been very accommodating. Last summer, my mother-in-law suffered a lengthy illness and my wife and I were at the Best Western weekly at one point. The staff was always polite and very helpful. The price is reasonable. They allowed the dogs with no issues. The facilities have been remodeled and is clean, modern and convenient. It is almost always quiet. Breakfast is O.K. as long as you go early enough to avoid the rush.

I've stayed at Best Western Town and Country Lodge many times over the past four years. It's not an exotic locale, but for my business travels it's perfect. The ownership is constantly upgrading the property, the front desk people are ALWAYS friendly and helpful (Terrie, Sal, and crew).
If your laptop is on the fritz, there is a computer available in the lobby!
Entertainment? Meet David the Bartender in the lounge. An engaging intellectual and a proud father!
Food? You will be hard pressed to find a better breakfast, especially one that is part of the great deal.
In the warmer months the pool is just the ticket. Within walking distance you'll find great shopping and restaurants.
Check out the AG Center...and you're not too far from the National Parks.
Get there early...and enjoy the Central Valley.

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel a number of times with our two puppies. The rooms are always clean, well kept and as neat as a pin with a wonderful staff from the front desk to maintance personal. One night our AC was shutting off to soon, One call to the front desk and not only did Manuel from Maintance show up immediately to repair the problem but Tony the Manager was with him to see if we needed another room or too find out if there was anything he could do to make us more comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone. They always put SERVICE FIRST.
