“Horrible, Disgusting and should close down”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

Went here for lunch. I ordered Spaghetti Puttanesca with angel hair pasta. After a half hour maybe longer our food finally arrived. When I received mine all that was in the bowl was the puttanesca sauce. After waiting about 10 minutes for the waitress to check to see if everything was ok, I asked her where the pasta was? Her response was let me check. She went to ask the cook, when she came back she said after talking to the cook and manager they all agree that the pasta comes with the sauce. She said they will make it. 20 minutes later I finally got my food. It tasted awful, I couldn't eat it. So all in all this restaurant has a cook and Manager who doesn't have a clue about how to cook. Honestly, who serves spaghetti sauce without pasta? Overpriced, awful tasting and portion size small. This restaurant will be out of business soon. Want good Italian food go to La Piazza Restorante Italiano

“What a nice surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

What a find! A lovely place with excellent service. The food was excellent. The fresh French bread with olive tapenade was just to die for. In fact we demolished a second helping. We ordered the mushrooms for an appetizer and they were in a marvelous garlic wine sauce of some sort that was so good we finished off every drop. The main course was really excellent but being small eaters, had pretty well knocked the edge off our appetite but if we're ever back there again, we'll return with renewed vigor, ready to try more of their wonderful food. The wine was excellent as well.

“Tops in a very flat valley”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2013

Dining out in the small towns of California's Central Valley can be an exercise in adequacy. But Bella Notte in Tulare is several cuts above the norm. The setting -- all dark wood panels and leather booths -- suggests a lounge in Chicago and indeed it would not have come as a surprise to find Frank Sinatra in the place a few years ago. It's that good. The chef makes his own pasta and he knows just how to prepare it and the vegetables al dente. He's also a dab hand with the meat and fish. And they bring the excellent olive oil in from Lodi. It's not just the best restaurant for fifty miles in any direction; Bella Notte would be a great place to eat anywhere.
