My family and I recently visited. When we scheduled our trip, we looked on the website calendar and we saw that on Tuesday nights, there was "Turtleneck Tuesdays" at the skating rink. The advertisement said that from 6 - 9 p.m., there would be skating at the rink with 70s and 80s music. My 10 year- old daughter not only loves to skate, but she really loves 70s and 80s music. On the Tuesday of our trip, we picked out our favorite turtlenecks and we were so excited to go skating to 70s and 80s music. Due to a delay with our dinner being served, we did not arrive at the rink until 7:45. But we were excited to have an hour of skating to our favorite music. We paid for our skates (very expensive) and we headed to the rink. The DJ was playing "Disco Inferno." We started grooving to the music. But when the song ended (shortly before 8 p.m.), the music stopped and we saw the DJ putting away his equipment. We skated over and asked what he was doing, and he told us that the management at Northstar told him to shut down at 8 if the crowd was "too small." My daughter started crying. Who wants to skate to no music? Of course, when the person rented our skates and collected our money at 7:45, he did not not tell us that the music would end at 8 (because the online advertisement said the music would play until 9). When we returned our skates and attempted to get our money back, there was no employee in sight.
This experience ruined our trip. I will NEVER go back to Northstar.
