It can be hard to find a place for lunch or dinner that doesn't cost and arm and a leg in trendy Truckee. The Blue Coyote serves basic food at good prices. Nothing fancy, but what else do you expect from a sports bar? The wait staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed.

We just came back from a week at Squaw Valley and ate at the Blue Coyote not one, not two, but three times. The Truckee location is a little off the beaten path and the base mountain location is right in the Village at Squaw Valley. We loved the appetizers -- the gut bombs fries are 'da bomb'. The sandwiches, nachos, and quesadillas were very good. The beer selection is quite tasty. If you tire of dinner conversation, there are lots of TVs to view your favorite sporting event. It was even very kid friendly. Of course the prices in the Village are a little high, but very comparable to any ski resort restaurant. This place was a hit for us!

Just spent some time in Truckee, CA ate one time at the Blue Coyote Bar and Grill WHAT A RIP OFF THIS PLACE IS! $10 bucks for a burger $5 bucks for a beer come on are we at the base of Squaw? The service is outrageous the two bartenders were two chicks who did not even say hello and the manger had a large chew in his mouth the whole time I was there? I would not go to this place over MacDonald’s on my next trip to Truckee. The only thing this place has going for it is the location food was terrible service was even worse!

Just spent three nights in a nearby hotel and had dinner here every night. Varied menu, something for everyone, great salads, burgers, pizza, appetizers and more. Noisy but fun atmosphere. Energetic professional wait staff. Great food, great bar, good prices and a good family place. Can't wait to go back again.
