This property was everything we imagine a Tahoe snow trip would be like.
We arrived with 3 families - adding up to 2 grand parents, 6 adults, 5 kids, plus 1 dog. The house was big enough for us to lose track of where our 3 year old was, but he was safely exploring the house with his cousin. Our older daughters made themselves at home in the nook office area that’s staged above the living room / kitchen. Such a clever house design gave them a private area of their own, but allowed me to call them down, without the need to raise my voice.
The steps that wined up the middle of the home was always an adventure to descend, and leads beautifully in to kitchen and main living room. Most of us spent our time in the kitchen, taking turns to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner. Nice and spacious with 2 sinks, counter and bar - the kitchen made it the hang out spot for the adults and never felt crowded. The kitchen was stocked with big pots, knives, cutting boards, cookie pans, and my favorite - an oversized electric griddle for making pancakes, we found everything we needed to cook anything we wanted.
But of course the whole reason we came to visit the Truckee area was to play in the snow. Our plan was to go to the local Soda Springs, sno-park, but with a backyard that opens right into the open golf course, we stayed put right at home. The snow blanketed the back yard, and it felt so like our own private ski park. The field slopes slightly so it made for a great view, and just a few steps away from the patio was a small make-shift hill perfect for the sleds and to take it off of some sweet jumps. The house provided multiple sleds, that was great because we decided not to pack any on the road trip due to the size.
All said, we are looking forward to booking this property again. Great price, great location, and great house.
