Family-friendly house nestled on its own pond with acres of recreational hiking, golfing, canoeing, swimming, gold-panning, soccer, volleyball, billiards, and more in the beautiful Trinity Alps of California. Boating in the Trinity Lake is minutes away but you really don't need to leave the ranch-it has it all!
Each year our family of five children, spouses and 10 grandchildren take a family trip together. Almay was the perfect place for all ages. The grounds are beautiful and the activities plentiful. It was really fun to be in the same house together. The deck overlooking the lake was a gathering place where conversations, card games, and meals were enjoyed. Marco prepared dinner for us two of our nights and the meals were both outstanding. Both Marco and Lora are the perfect hosts and made our trip even that much more enjoyable. It was voted as one of our families favorite vacation spots. We shall return!!!!!
The property is very well maintained and provided days of uninterrupted fun. We rode quads through the many trails, fished in the creek, rode the dirt bike, played golf, canoed, kayaked, played mini golf, foosball, ping pong, pool, darts, hiked. Nobody had a need to be "connected" but a wi fi hot spot is available. The scenery is beautiful! We are planning a return trip already.
It was all worth it. Amazingly beautiful and peaceful place especially for family gatherings. Our family from age 91 to age 2 enjoyed Almay Ranch. The rooms are all clean with very comfortable beds. Most of all the hospitality of Marco and Lora made our stay more memorable. It was the way I wanted to celebrate my birthday.
Our family of 18, ages 23 months to 69 years, had a magical three days of hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, and lots and lots of game time. A perfect retreat for a family to be together.

Just returned from a 5 day trip to the Almay Ranch where our family experienced many diversified activities. There were 14 of us ranging in age from 6 to 75.
The view from the 6 bedroom, 3 bath home was exceptional. The lake is right outside the lower level deck. (shallow, so ok for youngsters). Multiple canoes and a paddle boat. Bike trails, golf, fishing, volleyball, miniature golf, horseshoes and a multitude of other things to occupy everyone.
Hiking and boating were some of the favorite pastimes.
If you go to relax, this is one of the most peaceful places you'll ever find.
The facilities are excellent and very well cared for. The staff will quickly become your friends, they are there to help you with any needs. I know you will want to learn all about the history of this fantastic facility..
We stayed at the Almay Ranch with 4 other couples recently. I am not a fan of large groups, but the layout of the main house is such that if you need some alone time, you can easily find it. There are long walks and hikes to be taken, a very challenging 9 hole golf course, a pond, creeks, everything you can walk. The house is the best equipped house I have ever seen, by far. There was every device you might need to make the most gourmet meal, a gas stove AND an electric stove, gas oven, electric oven, microwave, and enough plates, silverware, glasses (including wine glasses) to feed an army! and that's just in the upstairs kitchen! The downstairs kitchen is smaller but more than adequately equipped. Each kitchen also has a coffee maker, so no problem getting a cup.
Almay Ranch is completely off the grid, but there were no problems with power or water during our stay. Internet access is only available at a picnic table outside the main house and just a little bit up the road. This helps ensure you do all the wonderful things the property has to offer, rather than sit on your butt and surf the net.
Almay ranch is a 6 hour + drive from the south bay area, not including stops for lunch and bathroom breaks, so plan accordingly. Because of this, I would recommend booking the ranch for at least 5 days, since you will spend a day getting there and another getting home. It is well worth the extra time.
