“Just what we were looking for”

We stayed in room 1A and were pleasantly surprised. The pictures don't lie, you get a desk, sofa and a comfortable queen bed. There's also a sink with soap, sponge and towels furnished, microwave, coffee machine, not to mention basic dinnerware. It was perfect for our 2 night stay since we had leftovers from the day before and went to Larrupin the second night. We enjoyed our dinner on the deck, listening to the sea lions. Hummingbirds and jays were all over the place. A Steller's Jay came up to the door one morning and screamed for a while. I guess other guests gave it some food in the past. That was a funny alarm call but people, feeding wildlife is not good for the animals!!

Everything is very clean and cozy. The shower door showed dirt, mold and rust in the corner but I've been to more expensive places where it was the same and I know it's a pain in the neck to keep perfect.

The lodge is very close to the magnificent Patrick's Point State Park and has easy access to the restaurants, deli or casino.

It's absolutely beautiful and well maintained. I had called to make a reservation, I didn't receive an email confirmation so I was a little worried that there was a confusion but everything went fine.

We paid $109 per night during the weekend, which is very reasonable. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Nice clean place, with very helpful staff. Very quiet. We stayed in #8 which is huge (Sleeps 6), but right on the road. It also has a full kitchen and 2 baths, living room with flat screen, cable etc.
Unfortunately the ocean is across the street and down the hill, and only accessible from those pricier joints located there. We snuck through the competition's property and caught the sunset, and barking sea lions. If you can afford the Whale or Turtle, I think the view alone is worth the extra$.

Room Tip: try up the hill away from the road

We stayed in cottage #9, which has a neat, clean kitchenette, very pleasant furnishings, and a bathroom with a whirlpool that dissolved the aches of the day wonderfully well. When we first went in, the smell of cleaning liquids was a bit strong, and the cabins don't have sea views, but ours was a welcome place to return to after a day of hiking around and we recommend it!

Room Tip: Not sure if all cottages have whirlpools, but what a great end to the day!

So, we weren't sure what we were going to get, but we were quite happy with the result. We had a one BR (queen bed) with a hot tub. The hot tub is in an indoor room, with a ceiling, and not a deck or porch, so it did get a bit steamy. Still, quite nice to come back too after a day of hiking in the rain. The room/living area was great. Good comfortable bed, a hotel-sized kitchen, a sitting area with a good TV, wi-fi, everything you could ask for. Our limited contact with the staff was also friendly and helpful. We were very pleased and would definitely come back.

We spent two nights in Cottage 10 the third week of June. The cottage exceeded our expectations. Quiet, cozy.........offering the rest and relaxation. Could not "see" the ocean from our cottage but heard the barking of sea lions. We will most definitely return for a longer stay and bring a small portable BBQ for the deck if owners allow. (Kitchen provided all necessary utensils, pans, etc.)

We wished we would have stayed 3 days instead of 2 here and one at Requa Inn. We could see the ocean from cottage 4, had a kitchen and saved money not eating out contatantly, there was a comfortable living room area with a tv with HBO an free wi-fi. Manager was very nice and it was very clean. We had considered stayin across the street, but this turned out to be so much nicer. It wa just the two of us, but this would have been perfect for families too.

On the way home from my trip when I had to stop because it was getting to late. Someone recommended this lodge in Trinidad. Rooms were great and big. Me, my wife and our two kids. I chose to go with a two bedroom. Manager or the owner was very friendly and helpful. Room had a flat screen with hbo, forced air heat. It also had a good wifi signal. I recommend staying here if you're planning on staying around this area.
