“Perfect little Inn”

Beautiful little motel with great rooms and with friendly service.
Great location between Trinidad and Patrick’s point.
Our room was large, had a microwave and a refrigerator and also dishes and silver ware. The TV sets are new and great. The room was impeccable.

We loved this little hotel. The owners were very nice and sent us to several great spots in the area. It's located in the redwoods on old pacific coast highway near the beaches, state parks and trails.

The Trinidad Inn is a nice motel situated in the north eastern section of Trinidad. I found it on Google Earth while charting out my SoCal to NorCal adventure. The innkeepers are really nice folks and the inn is situated in a sparsely populated location of Trinidad, yet conveniently located on Patrick's Point Drive.

I stayed in Room #9, a single room with a queen sized bed, a computer desk with free Wi-Fi, nice cozy heater, overhead shower, and TV. The bed was very comfortable and I did not encounter any outlandish scent in the room at all. If you wake up early enough, you can serve yourself muffins and coffee at the gazebo in the courtyard.

The only con I found at this location is the paper-thin walls. It's the only con I found, and I am not a picky traveler, but it's enough to make me reconsider returning to this inn. The walls are so thin that you can hear practically anything and everything going on in the other rooms. In fact, they're so thin that you can even record the sound coming from the other room with a Flip cam video camera! Since Room #9 is sandwiched between two rooms, I had the leisure of listening to a family of four counting down to New Year's Day on New Year's Eve while in the other room, I had another tenant watching football in high volume. I'm not exaggerating about the walls. If you're not a night owl like myself, you might want to broaden up your options.

If you and your significant other tend to make a lot of "noise" during the night and like to keep private, Trinidad Inn might not be for you. If you're looking for something cost efficient to host a good night's rest, putting away the wall discrepancy aside, give Trinidad Inn a shot! I probably wouldn't recommend it to a friend though.

We were having a tough day. We almost got marooned on a back road on the Lost Coast. It was almost 9 p.m. when we got into cellphone range and called to let Joanne at the Trinidad Inn where we were. She had tried to reach us and was glad to know we were on our way. She waited for us and listened to the tale of our misadventures. Our room was immaculate and the kitchen well equipped. In the morning she had muffins and coffee set out in the gazebo for guests. We really appreciated her hospitality. The area is very scenic. It was a shame we came in so late and had little time to enjoy it.

After a long drive up the coast from San Fransisco we desperately needed a place to stay the night. We called the office at 8:50pm from Eureka and found out they had a few rooms still available. The Lady at the front desk waited up for us even though the office usually closes at 9 and was more than accommodating when we arrived around 9:30. At this point we would have been happy with a motel 6 type atmosphere because of how tired we were, but this place blew us away with how neat and clean the rooms were. There was even a small kitchen which came in handy for storing milk and other cold items over night. The bed was very comfortable and since the location is off the main highway it was very quiet at night. The rates were very reasonable and the husband and wife that run the place were some of the nicest people we have met. They made us feel like guests in their home, rather than paying customers that they have to take care of.

The next morning we took advantage of the trail that lead down to a private cove (not for the timid) and got to take in some of Northern California's great scenery.

If you want to stay in Trinidad, you HAVE to stay here!

My girlfriend and I decided at the last minute to visit Trinidad for the weekend. We didn't have reservations so we thought we would wing it and were glad we did. I found the Trinidad Inn on our GPS and gave them a call. The lady who ran the place was more than helpful and talking to her was like talking to a friend. When we arrived we knew immediately this was the place we would stay for the weekend. The rooms were like mini cabins tucked away in the redwoods. Our room was awesome, a kitchen with basic utensils a microwave and fridge. An immaculately clean living room, bathroom and bedroom. My girlfriend thought the matching linens and curtains were cool but I could care less. The location is great right down the street from the ocean and a bar :). The lady told us about a hidden trail that leads from the back of the hotel to a secret spot that over looks the ocean. We absolutely loved our experience and am looking forward to returning....and she gave us a great deal so I left her a 6 pack of coronas in the fridge.

A lucky find after a long drive, we spent three nights at the Trinidad Inn in August 2009. The location was great, the room good value and the people couldn't have been more helpful. Trinidad itself is a beautiful little town with excellent restaurants and the beaches and forests around it are beautiful, unspoilt and - when we went - virtually empty. We'll definitely go there again.
