Trinidad Bay Bed & Breakfast Hotel
Ranked #2 of 5 Trinidad B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the Trinidad Bay Bed and Breakfast. We had never heard of Trinidad, but decided to stay here after looking at the Trinidad Bay B&B website. We stayed in the Trinity Alps Room. Simply amazing. The views were magical, lots of warm sunlight, really upscale furnishings and amenities. The room is decorated with a lot of furniture from Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, etc.... The room definitely has a more modern elegance to it. It was so much nicer than those other traditionally frumpy B&B's. Our room was an upstairs unit with our own private entrance.

Jason, the innkeeper, was really friendly and knowledgeable. He's a great cook and an great photographer too! Our breakfasts were brought to our room at 8:30a.m. on the dot. The breakfasts were very tasty and artfully prepared.

Although Trinidad may be a tiny town, there's a good amount to do. We hiked around some trails overlooking the ocean, walked along the beach and watched a sea lion basking in the sun.

But, lazing around in our comfy room, drinking tea, reading, playing poker, taking midday naps, browsing the internet (on their free WiFi!) was probably the most enjoyable part of our stay.

We would definitely recommend the Trinidad Bay B&B to any of our friends and family. You won't be disappointed!

BTW, check out the Moonstone Grill for dinner too. Awesome Seafood Chowder and steaks! Thanks Jason!

After we found out that we could not take our trip to Maui because of the recent earthquake, my wife and I traded our shorts for sweaters and headed up the beautiful Pacific Northwest towards Victoria, B.C. Our first stop along the way was in beautiful Trinidad. We called the Trinidad Bay B&B while we were on our way and once we arrived to the breath taking bay views and warm hospitality from Jason we knew we had picked the right place. The deal was sealed with the spacious and private room, the most comfortable bed that we've slept on in years, and a gourmet breakfast fresh from the oven the next morning. We will be back for a visit again!

We stayed in the Tide Pool - ground floor, perfect, lots of windows, view right across the street at Memorial Lighthouse. Quiet, spotless, tasteful, we loved this enormous room and spacious bathroom.

Jason and his partner were wonderful hosts. We had our breakfast brought to our room on trays in the morning - such a treat, both the food and the service. Delightful food.

I've been busily recommending this place to everyone. Lovely shower, too.

Quiet, great bed, blissful. We hated to leave!

We stayed at this B&B for a couple of nights in July 2006. We stayed in the Trinity Alps Room. The room was plenty big for my husband and I. The views were like nothing I've ever seen. The bed was kind size and very comfortable. The room was upstairs and very private. Since it is a private entrance the stairs of course are outside and kind of narrow and steep if you are older or carrying a lot of luggage up the stairs (They are wooden)...this was not a big problem for us, but could be for others. There were windows where you could just sit and stare at the Bay and the sail boats and you could see the lighthouse from our room. There was a comfortable sitting area and a sink, microwave, small fridge and coffee maker, and a radio/cd player, but no tv. I've included pictures of the room, the outside of the B&B and the view of the bay, sunset at the beach and a view from Patrick's Point State Park. We walked down to the beach area which is approx 1 mile or so away. It was the most private beach we saw on our trip. The sunset was just gorgeous. We didn't have fog either morning so we were lucky. The population is only 311 people so there's not a lot to do if you are looking for something other than relaxation and the bay/beach. For us that was plenty and I didn't want to leave. There are a couple of good restaurants and a deli in the market where you can get deli sandwiches. The owner of the B&B has changed. The innkeeper is Jason Ritchie. He was very quiet and a little shy, but very helpful and sweet. The breakfast was very good..plenty to eat..we loved the mini muffins that he makes fresh every morning and loved the fresh fruit and he gives you fresh juice and a hot entree. The rooms are 200 per night. The only complaint I might have was that the bathroom was so small and that made it hard to move around, but we managed. It was worth it and after returning I realized that was my favorite spot on this entire trip. Don't miss Patrick's Point State Park if you go to this area...the views are spectacular.

On a road trip from San Francisco to Portland Or., my husband and I picked Trinidad as our first nights stay on the road. The Trinidad Bay B & B was where we chose to stay primarily based on their website. After phoning and speaking with Don, the proprietor, we chose to stay in the "Blue Room" which was described as "upstairs with a private entrance". I found that more appealing so that we could come and go without disturbing ohter occupants. The room was spacious yet cozy. The king sized bed was most comfortable. The kitchen came equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave and coffemaker. This would be a wonderful room for couples staying for more than one night. The view is spectacular overlooking all of the bay. The weather was cooperative so we had more of a view than just fog. While making reservations by phone, we asked Don about dining options upon our arrival. He mentioned a restaraunt nearby and said that he would make reservations for us. When we arrived at the Inn, he told us that the restaraunt was closed due to modified hours for the season. He then reccommended the restaraunt at the casino. Hmmm. Well suprise, suprise. Dinner was great. I had prime rib and my husband had a porterhouse and each was delicious. Their wine list was adequate as well. After dinner we returned to the inn for a fabulous nights rest. Breakfast was delivered to the room at 8:30 (it was nice to have the coffee maker in the room as we tend to rise early and enjoy coffee and/or tea before brekkie). This day brought us fresh fruit, orange juice, homemade bread (two kinds, white and zucchini) with butter and jams, baked grapefruit and a hot entree titled, "Herbed Cheese Puff". My husband liked it better than I did, but I certainly got enough to eat with the grapefruit, bread and fresh fruit. After breakfast we walked down to the seashore to look for shells, rocks and seaglass. We returned to the room, showered, packed up and got ready to hit the road. Don made some suggestions regarding senic stops and we were glad he did. One included a three mile trip down a dirt road thru the redwood forrest that we would otherwise would have missed. All in all, it was a great first night stop on our way up the coast.
