As we arrived they appeared to be still installing the name brand signs on the building, even the pavement was fresh with chalk lines for the paint. What bothered us most were the gang members who appear to use the hotel and the graffiti and scribe gang etchings on the glass doors. Not something you want to see when checking into the hotel, in fact the elevator walls were damage and filled with gang stuff.
Checking in the wanted to photo copy your drivers license something I'm not comfortable with and a sign of possible problems with guests.
In the room the toilet leaked and made noise all night long but not the type you can just pop open the lid to solve, rather a modern pressure tank contraption that leaked and did not even flush correctly. In fact most of the time it did not flush. The curtains on the windows were already falling apart and we had to jerry rig them to stay shut to keep the light out.
For some reason they only had a small roll of toilet paper in the room, no spare roll so we had to walk to the reception to get a new roll as the staff said they had no one to help. While the price was ok (around $70) and the hotel was new. The signs of wear and unpleasant guests would stop me from booking again.
The kitchenette was the highlight, with pots, pans, stove and larger fridge if cooking for yourself is your thing this place might be for you.
