A little old, but the people were great and helpful. I had some boxes that I needed to get to my car and the two security guys were so nice and friendly. Only stayed one night, but it was a great location and a good value. Would stay here again.

This was a one-nighter, one of those desperate, necessary last-minute bookings. Everything was comfortable, clean, and totally perfect in the room. Even the fan/AC unit was easy to control and not too loud. Internet was fine. But the pool was the unexpected joy. If you swim for exercise, you know that most hotel pools are hopeless. Now, this is no 25-yard lap pool, but it's more than 15—long enough to get a few strokes in before you turn. The very nice outdoor spa is an added plus.

I was a little disappointed this time staying at the Doubletree. I paid for the upgrade and wasn't impressed at all. The bathroom did not have any ventilation, I kept having problem connecting to the internet and I wasn't near the elevator as the info stated I would be with the upgrade. I enjoyed the fitness center, up to date equipment. The hotel is centrally located, lots to do. I will use them again, just had a bad experience this time around. Usually, I have no problems. Don't purchase the upgrade unless you check out the room first to see if it's worth it.

good hotel..overall good stay. only had a few "challenges." 1. i had a non-smoking room, but when I walked into the room, it smelled of smoke. I went down to desk and they switched it with no problem. 2. in the morning, I went to get a coffee at the cafe, before I left. I arrived at 6 am and it was not open yet. she stated they didn't open until 6:30. If you are a Hotel catering to "business people" you need to serve coffee before 6:30 am. overall great hotel and good stay. bar/rest was awesome!

This is the 3rd time I ordered dinner in the bar and I have to say-so good! The service was great and the bartender attentive. I stay at this hotel whenever in the South Bay area-consistent and recommended!

Room was clean, and the amenities were nice. the executive lounge was good for breakfast, not great for dinner (meager selection of food, and beer/wine). Everything else was pretty normal. Restauraunt was pretty good, room service was quick.

I reserved a King for one night using HHonors points, to arrive the night prior to a cruise departure out of San Pedro the next day. I was very pleased with this hotel.
Entry door and bell staff were courteous, and the front desk staff greeted us warmly and expectedly. With the grand and clean entry way stretching several yards, it was a very nice way to stretch out, unwind, and be esthetically treated after driving a few hundred miles of barren scenery followed by LA traffic. I'm familiar with the area, and this hotel is ideally located for this purpose as it's not far off of the 405, and a short cross-town drive on Carson to the 110 and south to San Pedro/Long Beach. Very good access.
The hotel was well appointed and had several meeting areas as well as coffee bar and restaurant. It also has a nice pool and hot tub in the central courtyard area. Our room was on the 10th floor facing west, and overlooking the courtyard below. I didn't really use the amenities since it was a short stay. But the room was clean, and spacious. I actually commented to my wife that the reading chair and ottoman were the most comfortable I've had in many stays in other hotels.
Layout of the room was nice with the king size bed taking up just a small area of the room. A nice desk and chair was helpful when I needed to use Inet and do some last minute catch-up before being out of touch for a few days. The large flat panel TV accommodated any type of interface you had, so watching your own stuff was easy. The TV reception kind of sucked on local channel 4, so watching the SNF football game was a waste of time.
Some of the other advantages of this hotel are that it has a lot of different dining options very close by, and nice upscale shopping center across the (very busy, and wide) street.
Overall, I found this to be one of the better options for staying in the LA south bay. I plan to return when business or pleasure takes me there again.

Room Tip: The 10th floor is the highest level before you get to the HHonors floors. If you request a western...
